Buy Cards, Help a Hurting Family. PLEASE READ!

The above link is the GoFundMe page for the Toribio family. Anthony Toribio, a friend and former NFL player, lost his wife Kirby to cancer. As a father of 4 young kids myself and a wife that I’m madly in love with, I can’t imagine everything he must be feeling and how hard it’s going to be to shoulder the load of raising all three kids by himself.

If anyone feels so inclined, they can donate straight to the Toribios via the link. In the next few days, I will be posting my small collection that Ive acquired over the last few years. It’s not big, but there’s truly some awesome cards in there. Every single dime is going to go straight into the GoFundMe after each card sells. Not sure yet if I’m going BIN, auction or a mix. I would like to get them funds quickly, but maximize the donation as much as possible.

I understand those of you who are skeptical, but this is very real and I can’t sit by and hold pieces of cardboard when I have a friend who could desperately use the funds for much needed expenses during the most difficult time in his life. As someone who understands there are truly some awesome people in this hobby I figured I would reach out to the card community for help. Please share if you know someone who may be interested as well.

Alright BO Community, It’s all live on eBay right now. Almost everything started as an auction at .99, some I may relist as an auction but it got too late and I don’t want them ending around midnight ET.

Everything is promoted at a small rate to get eyes and bids, but I don’t want to cut into the donation too much so I’m trying to walk a fine line.

Could I ask everyone a sincere favor? Even if you aren’t bidding on anything, could you please go in and watch the items? I think it would be pretty cool if the traffic increases to get more eyes on the cards and hopefully give the Toribios as much as possible when it’s all said and done. If nothing else, you can track the items and know that whatever is sold, his family is getting every dime once fees/shipping are deducted. It would be pretty cool to make this a team effort and use cards to make a real difference in the lives of others.

I’ve been overwhelmed and fatigued from our recent news. During my chemo, we learned my tumor became resistant to the treatment and progressed." I am glad to help by watching (and maybe bidding) on your items.

She was truly an AMAZING person too. Her life touched so many others.

Final pic of everything that is currently up for auction. There are definitely already a ton of people watching and bidding. PLEASE keep the momentum going. I have no doubt that some of that support has been from the card community on Blowout.

Most of the auctions end on Sunday night, but there are a handful of cards ending Monday night as well.

Thank you sincerely for already helping to make a tangible difference in a dark time. Please share this with as many people as you know in the card community however you can. If there was ever a time to buy over comps on something, it’s now. There are no L’s here because of where the money is going.
