Good day at Olympic Museum

USOPM had a festival where a number of Olympic athletes showed up for meet and greets. I figured it would be a good opportunity for autographs and it was.

Obtained signatures from Picabo Street, Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Bob Beamon, Billy Mills, Dan O'Brien, Michelle Akers and Bonnie Blair.

Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Bob Beamon, Billy Mills, Dan O'Brien sat in on a panel that was very very good and enlightening.

Yes, Tommie Smith was on the original list of people to appear and then John Carlos was added. Fortunately I had enough of a heads up to get cards and photo of the athletes. Some I could not get since they were in other parts of town but I was able to get most of who I wanted. Misty May is the only one I approached who would not sign though she could have.

Yes. Periodically they will have bigger events and sometimes just one athlete. Last Summer Olympics they did some things and I was able to get a number of Michael Spinks autos. You have to look for their upcoming events. I found all of this out by seeing of people appearing after the fact in the paper but now I check for events every now and then.

Thanks ! It was a good time. The ones mentioned did a panel and all had interesting stories. Billy Mills told some good stories. All in all very good.
