I am guessing the rights to the newer movies would be significantly more expensive, likely the signers too

Cryptozoic should create fossil cards of T-Rex & the Velociraptor similar to Topps A&G.

Halfway through the SDCC presale and boxes are still available! Locked mine in. Hopefully its a skip the line easy pickup situation at the booth. Glad they limited me to 1. Made me behave myself. Curious if the presale will sell out before the hour is up.

EDIT: Sale closed promptly at 11. Says Presale quantity sold out but I kinda doubt it haha. Clock just ran out. Hope booth pickup is easy peasy! Really want a Wayne Knight as a huge Seinfeld fan but my luck is never that good haha.

It said presale quantity sold out with one minute left before the hour was up. No way I believe it actually sold out at 1:59pm (eastern)

Yeah I do feel that quantity will be available at the booth. However, I would not want to risk it being sold out at the booth or a long line once word gets out about it.

I got my box for pickup, and I'm excited to see if I can get that Wayne Knight!

At the con now. No separate line for preorders. Which begs the question, why did I preorder then? If I have to wait in line same as everyone else, what's the point? Silly. I'll let you know if I get a Wayne Knight. But surely I'll be zonked.

I'll be there tomorrow. But yes, I imagine they will have some stock set aside for pre orders.

Same, opened 2 and got baby trike and stego /99. I won't open any more until the full release, as I know the full release likely will have guaranteed auto/sketch per box. As that seems to be Cryptozoics MO with their releases.

No serialized singles or Wayne autographs on eBay yet, that is surprising

Same. I don't know how much is being opened if there aren't even any Waynes on te market, considering they are 1/5 boxes in the preview set.

That's the name of the game at SDCC - flip as much as you can to cover your travel expenses. And honestly, I can't blame anybody.

Yep. This.
I used to have my entire trip paid for every single year by Artbox where they had the Harry Potter license. I bought every exclusive I could from them and the stuff sold amazing

Huh, I am surprised to see the /99 that is in every box is selling for the cost of a full box. Wonder if that means the Wayne Knights will sell well. Also the Brilliances will do well too.

It hasn’t sold yet, that’s just the asking price

I just got back from Comic-Con so it's fresh in my mind what I spent. I can get it back very easily, though my results are far from typical.

I only went on Sunday. Two tickets were $135 total and pre-paid parking was $30. In the Hall, I bought a water for $6.50. We're 100 miles away from the convention, so gas wasn't too much, so we were probably in $200 in for the day.

Started out going to the Adult Swim carnival which is outside the convention hall on the beach side. We got two "Smiling Friends" vinyl figures upon entry. I haven't even seen the show, but those sell for $100 a piece which is nice. Also got a Morty Beach Towel and Inflatable Pickle Rick, plus a couple of enamel pins from one of their new shows.

The "King of the Hill" event was right next to it. There we played some more games and each won a new boxed pin set of the four main characters drinking beer at the wall, with a 5th pin, Bobby, who is now old enough to drink with them. Those seem to sell for about $80 out of the gate. They also gave us KOH various logo trucker hats (patches ironed on right there in front of you!), beer koozies, temporary tattoos. We also saw BBQ aprons, but I think they'd run out of those by Sunday. All of that stuff is also sellable, but I'm a big fan of the show, so I'll keep some of it. They also had food, decent-sized portions of bbq beef(?) and sausage, plus coleslaw, macaroni & cheese, actual aluminum "Alamo Beer" cans filled with ice-cold water, and even tables to sit at and eat it. It was a classy presentation on Hulu's part and probably the biggest promotional event the show has ever received. After a few pushes for the first few seasons of the original run in the 90's, it went basically unadvertised by Fox for its final decade.

The two events above were actually free. For the events outside of the convention hall, you usually don't need a Comic-Con badge, and there are many more like them, just be ready to stand in line, probably in the sun.

So in our case, we more than covered everything from just the free stuff, including the $50 dinner we stopped for on the way home. But your point is well taken as our experience is clearly atypical and the costs of flying in, staying in a hotel, maybe renting a car, add up fast.

Here's my report of the non-sports cards related stuff I did at Comic-Con on Sunday which at least mentions the CZX Jurassic Park cards, haha.
