Default The Sandlot Topps Archives

Loved this movie and when these came out I had to put the set together right away. They were fairly cheap back then but I also got lucky on a couple of the bigger ones. Think I have $200-$250 into the set. Was going through my cards earlier and realized I didn't have a picture of them. Still enjoy them.

Terrific cards!

In a similar vein, here's the "Bad News Bears" autograph set from 2013 Panini Golden Age:

I tried to do just the base set with no autos and can’t remember why I gave up on it.

Favorite baseball movie, and the set is so great looking!

Nice collection! What if this set had included James Earl Jones and Denis Leary? It’d be iconic…

Great set - congrats!

I was going to do this for the Bull Durham auto set from Archives, but those autos were SO bad… smudged and streaky. Topps chose the wrong pens/markers that year

Does anyone know why Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez was not included in the auto set? Seems weird that the second biggest role in the movie wouldn’t sign. He is included in the non auto set so it isn’t as though he was opting out of the whole thing, just the auto.

He quit acting almost 30 years ago and has been a firefighter for a long time. I think he just values his privacy. He almost never does the signings the other guys do.

About 5 years ago when Disney plus was just starting.

They had a plan to do a series with all the original characters as fathers in the 1980s

They even all were on good morning show talking about it

But it obviously never happened

I’ve pulled a bad news bear auto and sold it on eBay cheap. Didn’t know what that was. Later saw the movie and absolutely loved it. I’m glad it’s in the hands of someone who appreciates it.

That display is very nice.

There were two other "Sandlot" card sets issued with DVD and/or BluRay editions of the movie intended to celebrate its 20th and 25th Anniversary. Both were 10 card sets, though only the 25th Anniversary cards (from 2018) were actually made by Topps. Those used the famous 1962 woodgrain design.
