Default Grading companies question...

I'm not up on all the grading companies other than CGC. My buddy has a vintage comic graded by PGX, is that a reputable company? (I know from sportscards that there are many grading companies that have no respect)
A CGC 5 of the comic basically goes for $3,000 and his is a 4.5 by PGX.
Thanks,
Vinny

PGX is not a good grading company. There was some shady business tactics. Of course every grading company has their issues but overall CGC is the "gold standard".

Back in the day if it was PGX then expect 1.5-2 grades lower in a CGC case. Without seeing the rest of the comic you posted, I would expect a CGC 2 maybe a CGC 3 for it...again gotta see the rest of the comic.

Nice to see some of the older Dell comics...thanks for posing it!

Thanks, I'm not surprised with CGC being the dominant service. My buddy got this in a bigger collection and he's on his way to the National this weekend. I'll try and get more pics when he gets back.

Best Always,
Vinny

Yes, PGX is not highly respected.
Would crack and re-slab with CGC.

I agree with everyone else here and would crack and re-sub with CGC.
