That's what it says on the flyer, but I also saw people behind me in line with a cart that had cases of product on it, seriously like 8 cardboard boxes

That's wild. Baseball continuously runs out because people can bring in cases from home (I also know my LCS brings cases of product over there to get the packs and then sells the unsealed boxes at a slight discount).

I know for me, it was one of the few things I really wanted from the show. Oh well, I suppose I'll adjust expectations next year... and hope they change their policy.

Did anybody do Leaf box redemptions this year?

I'm looking for some info for future reference such as can I bring cases/boxes from home or is there a sticker system where you must buy on show floor to do wrapper redemption? Also, what can be expected from opening the packs and case packs of Leaf's program? Can't seem to find any info or videos about Leaf's program

I did one box, just bought it from the dealer at the show and brought it to leaf’s desk, no sticker, no line, got the 15th anniversary pack, no autos but some ok low numbered cards. I’m guessing as long as it’s sealed you should have no problem redeeming it regardless where you bought it, then they’ll break the seal for you as you redeem the pack.

For collectors who like freebies, they're usually more than happy to throw you a free box if you're willing to redeem a case on their behalf. They only do this for the redemption packs which they break at $100+ per

I've never done it because I just don't want to condone the breakers and LCS who do this garbage and empty out all the packs for us regular people. Don't blame the people who do though, it's a free hobby box. I still wish Topps didn't allow this from the clear business attendees but they don't care

I'd be in favor of Topps requiring redemptions only going to non-dealers. The clowns that come it with their carts piled high is ridiculous. Shoot, for traffice flow alone on the show floor, carts should not be allowed outside of move-in/move-out. Make each person show their show badge. Dealers and breakers no redemptions. Yes, the system would be beatable as they could just buy a regular attendee badge, but at least they'd have to take that extra step and expense.

They just need to enforce limits better. Also Panini doesn't seem to have issues with selling out on these.

That's because Panini makes you buy from 3 specific dealers who have all jacked up the price of the boxes to add $40. You might as well just buy the silver packs outright from said dealers and save yourself the misery of opening junk retail or tmall crap. Also the panini packs only have 2 cards and are not as desirable for breaking on whatnot.

This year it reached the breaking point with topps. I mean how many redemption packs is enough? KK sports cards is paying people a hobby box to run a case through the line for them. I'd venture to guess they walked away with over 1k redemption packs by the end of the show while regular people (who were stuck waiting in line for hours outside) were unable to redeem a single box. I don't have a good answer on how to fix this, but it has finally reached the point where something should be done to address it.

Topps did the same thing for everything but baseball. Star Wars and Bowman required you to buy from those same 3 dealers.

Baseball is the lone free for all and causes the constant issues with "sell outs", allowing people to bring in anything to get the redemptions.

I personally would be fine with them limiting it to buying from those same 3 sellers (or expand it to a dozen from the show floor). Whatever they do, they bigger they make the program, the more ripe it is to get abused... as is currently the case.

They need to allow any dealer with a authorized hobby shop account to sell the baseball products with stickers or vouchers. We need competition or else the big 3 will just jack the sale price up by $75-100 on each product making the redemption completely useless. Upper deck does this in some fashion but they also set minimum prices on what the diamond dealers can sell for, which is also slimy.

Ironically the big 3 were CHEAPER on the baseball boxes than any other dealer I saw on the floor (or worst case equivalent). And on the panini boxes, I didn't see any jacked up prices.

But all of those baseball prices were higher than they were a month prior. I think the big three can set any price they want on products and most other places will follow suit.

$90 for a retail mega stars and stripes???? These will be $30 or less come November and could be found for $40 at the show minus the 2 cards.

I meant jacked up compared to what online prices had been in the weeks leading up the National.
