Now revise his right handed at bats to his last 75 right handed at bats. They have improved substantially, nowhere near as good as his left handed at bats but not as bad as the splits would have you believe. The upside is he is only 22 even if he decided to ditch the right handed hitting and concentrate more on hitting lefties as a lefty you would still have a decent player.

Volpe has been plain awful on both sides, hitting and defense, but it hasn't stopped Boone from rolling him out everyday.

You all see this?

Yankees in Road Extra Inning Games:

6 games
33 PA
1 hit (single)
1 run scored (on a wild pitch)
0 RBI

Just horrible. And let's not forget, that's with Manfred's garbage ghost runner already on 2nd base to start the inning.

I'd be more concerned that his High Leverage slash is .207/.269/.345/.613

Or that his second half so far is .231/.286/.307/.593 in 14 games

The real problem is the pitching staff. 11th in ERA for starters, 22nd for relief and the relief fip isn't much different than the era so its not luck, they just suck.

It’s a wonder they are still 7 games over .500

Contrary to rumors they actually have scored the most runs. The offense tends to run hot or cold, but on average scoring hasn't been the issue, its how bad the bullpen has been.

They are also tied for 5th being shutout 10 times which is the problem run scoring with this team. They can have a 15 run game and then get shutout the next day and score 2 runs the day after that.

Yes they're very inconsistent. This has been the case for years now. They beat up bad pitchers and get shut down by good pitchers. Its what happens when the lineup is built around power and has nobody who can just get a base hit when you need one.

The only thing that might save them a playoff spot is 28 of their last 49 games are against teams below .500 and their last 13 games are against the White Sox and Orioles.

Brutal. Almost impossible, really.. 1 hit? It's almost laughable.

He shouldn't last that long. Another bad game by Williams and he doesn't get pulled until way too late.

I don’t think any amount of success this team will ever have will bring me as much joy as when I get the notification that Aaron Boone was fired. He should be a professional bubble gum blower.

That "great" offense at it again with 2 whole hits and their 11th shutout of the season. And can we please just DFA Devin Williams?

Eovaldi allows 1 hit, Tellez single helps Rangers spoil Judge's return in 2-0 win over Yankees

Need to fire more than Boone. Need to fire anyone who is stuck on analytics mindset. Need to fire whoever keeps suggesting Cashman go after starting pitchers who can't pitch deeper into the games which causes Boone to have to overwork the bullpen. Probably need to fire every scout and development person as they really haven't produced anything great internally since Aaron Judge.

And we need Hal to sell the team.

While this may be a little scorched earth, this addresses the problem where the “fire Boone” accomplishes very little other than fan service.

Every team uses analytics, nobody has starting pitching that consistently goes 7+ innings. That said, the Yankees analytics team keeps picking the wrong players, Hicks, Stroman, Donaldson, not signing Harper, skipping out on Machado, Seager etc. While he has been great in the postseason at times, the acquisition of Stanton has completely hamstrung this team from a roster construction standpoint.

Thankfully starting tomorrow I have a 4 day vacation getaway which means I won't be paying attention to this crap team for a few days.

Yankees starters have thrown 602.1 innings in 114 games, best is Phillies with 646.2 in 113 games. 40 innings over 113 games is nothing. Oh and some of the teams with lower totals are Cubs 593, Padres 593, Det 582, Mets 572, MIL 568.1, and dead last LAD 525 almost a full inning less on avg than Phillies.
