I didn't....but then I have no idea what my collection is worth.

Given that I've been collecting since 1977, and primarily focus on ungraded HOFer/GOAT cards & autos, I'm guessing somewhere in the low six digits.

FWIW, the most valuable cards in my collection are probably either my 2019 Reflections Black Ohtani auto #/10 or my 2013 Topps Tier One Pele auto #/50.

They should be if it has any value.

I did

Why wouldn’t you?

It’s not a huge percentage but it still counts

I did also, though it’s less than 3% of my net worth.

I’m wondering how many dealers out there have cards that are over half their net worth?

There are far more than what most would think. I don't really pay much attention to him, but at some point in time I remember watching a show video from Mojobreaks (?) and he mentioned something about still living at home. I would say there are some people, like him, that have 90% of their net worth in cards. Not a derogatory comments towards their assets, just a statement on how deep some of these guys roll with their high end wheeling and dealing.

I have a very nice home, but wouldn't count my cards towards my net worth. I do not attach a value to my personal collection because it will never be sold as long as I live. In my business side with cards, I have a high cash flow model so things are always coming and going and it doesn't make sense for me to break out that value since it never gets comfortably situated. It also keeps me from having to worry about any downturns in the market doing it this way. So because of how I run my business I only count the liquid proceeds, not the lagging inventory.

Mine is around 60 bpm...but it is misleading because I am not in good shape and have a pretty sedentary lifestyle.

Why stop there? Let's break out the scale, sphygmomanometer, and (most importantly) a ruler.

Some members can’t be quantified by a mere ruler, a tape measure would be required to assess bulge accurately

Probably pretty high.
When I was running 60 miles a week it was 48.
Now that I'm totally out of shape, it's 65.

As your net worth grows higher, do you find yourselves buying more expensive cards or are you purchasing other higher priced items instead?

I buy more cards. I like cards

I don’t care about cars. I don’t care about clothes. My Apple watch is fine. I never want to move again until my kids are in College so my house is fine. I’m super neurotic, and I’m not handy (shocking I know), so I have no interest in buying a boat or a lake house or a whatever

My wife also doesn’t really like to travel. We are more of a long weekend family to Nashville or something… especially with youth sports. We don’t have some giant trip to Paris that is on our bucket list. We just don’t

Our condo in FMB is fine because we have a property manager and even that stresses me out when a hurricane comes through

Now let’s be clear… majority of my money gets invested into the market and/or RE since I work at a developer

But I’m not sure what else to spend my money on other than cards. I have a lot of big TV’s in the house to watch sports… and I definitely pay for convenience with my poop guy, landscaper, etc…

This is way more than you care about. I just figured I’d reply

I’ve actually reduced the maximum I would actually spend for a card today to $10k or less, compared to over $20k a decade ago.

No clue if she does or not. Never asked her

I just buy what I want. So does she

She does not support my 10 year making a mess because he opens blasters

My stuff is contained even if a card costs $20K
