so that means next year she'll lead the WNBA in scoring and finish 2nd for MVP to Magic Johnson

The Fever desperately need CC back like right now.
During last nights' game the Fever lost both Aari McDonald (broken bone in her foot) and Sydney Colson (left ACL tear) for the season and Colson might be done for good.

The Fever don't have a point guard right now and the trade deadline just passed.

The closest they have to a PG is probably Boston as she is the only one who can see the floor and make passes. Mitchel and Howard are where the ball goes to die. Cunningham and Hull will pass, but aren't elite passers.

Unless CC comes back very soon and can play major minutes this team is cooked for the foreseeable future. Maybe they can beat the Sky and Wings, but even against them I'm not too confident.

I'm of a similar mind, although not quite that extreme.

I don't actually watch games where CC isn't playing, but I do have a watch along on youtube in the background for Fever games to keep track of the score and stats. I actually do like Boston, Cunningham and Hull enough to keep track of non CC games, but I have nearly no interest in the rest of the league.

I have a strong suspicion that a large percentage of new fans are of a similar mindset as myself.

All the way through?

Pre-pandemic was at a Sparks game for a work event.

Not sure I actually watched the game, though.

What's your angle?

Again, I'm not anti-Caitlyn Clark. It could be great if she succeeds and more people get to enjoy the WNBA.

I just see prices where they are at right now and am getting Zion 2020 vibes. The bar is set so high that it seems like anything less than her being THE GREATEST will result in serious losses. It's the same way that people are paying real money for Downtowns and Kabooms of guys that don't matter like they were of PSA 10 base rookies of guys that don't matter in 2020.

If CC has 4 MVPs and 5 titles in the next 10 years than maybe this point is moot.

Caitlin booed and gave a double thumbs down to coach Stephanie White during the game against the Sky last night. It was more of a good natured troll than real animosity, but SW really did made a bone headed call. With just over 3 minutes left and the Fever up by 20 Dantas got the ball and had a wide open shot for a 3 (nobody within 10 feet of her) and just as she's about to shoot SW calls a timeout. Up by 20 with a clear 3 point shot and nothing happening elsewhere on the court and she calls a timeout for no reason.

As for the game, the Fever only won by 22, their closest game this year (they won by 35 and 27 the previous 2 games). For some reason they crush the Sky every time, even down to 9 players and no point guards.

Some good news for a change, CC's status has been updated to "Game Time Decision", which means she could be back Tuesday against the Wings.

Maybe this has been discussed before, but I find it wild that Prizm Silvers are basically the same price as anything number /199 and higher. I absolutely understand the aesthetic appeal of Silver, absolutely classic look. But from a pure supply view, the print runs are wildly different. Thousands of silvers, 199 blues, for example. Just a thought.

Silvers are a legacy/staple parallel.

Same reason true blues /150 typically sell better than true greens /99 in baseball.

So much for game day decision, CC ruled out for tonight's game against the Wings.

Only 11 regular season games left this year, CC has played just 13 of 33 games so far.

I used to get hyped every time Nesmith had a good game and someone compared him with MJ or LeBron. Then I realized that every player compares themselves with the greats until they achieve something and others compare themselves to them.

Not having bandwidth for another league, does Caitlin's game have any similarity to MJs?

That logowoman card is dope. Who did they model it after? I was thinking a 2008 Beyonce but I know that's not right.

Fair enough. But ya'll comparing Caitlin to MJ. That needs a rewind and perhaps a reality check, given stats, playoff performance, season length, and level of competition.

But then I have never watched either her or MJ seriously. Is there anyone in the forum who has?

But being MJ of the WNBA is comparable to being Nesmith of division 3 NCAA men's basketball.

ROFL. I mean Nesmith honestly couldn't touch the NCAA floor during his time in college. Late bloomer.
