His contract doesn't look good since he's been off the field so much. If he was healthy and peforming like he was in 2021 then it woulldn't look much worse dollar for dollar then Machado, Lindor, Tatis, Stanton, Bogaerts, Rendon, Swanson, Nimmo, Yellich, Correa, Baez, Corbin, Story, Ray, Buxton. There are not too many guys with big contracts that you can say are worth the money
His 2021 season was decent, nothing spectacular enough though to warrant a massive long term contract for a guy with injury concerns.

He was okay offensively in 2022, but only played 40 games and last year, he was terrible. This year even worse.

It's pretty obvious injuries have inflicted serious harm to his career like so many before him. I still root for the guy.

Yes but the Rockies decided to pay him anyway. And there are other guys with contracts as big as him with history of injuries

I remember opening 2015 product hoping to hit Bryant and Judge would be thrown in the dollar bin.

Will he return this season? That sounds more serious than a normal Oblique strain.

He's back on the IL. 8th time as a Rockie. Would be the worst FA signing in the last few years if not for Anthony Rendon.

I'm honestly surprised at how high this stuff is going for. I remember buying autos of him around $75-$100 for 'tougher' cards.
Thought his stuff was basement level now, but I guess not.

There are a few Bryant collectors (I assume hard core Cubs fans) out there artificially propping up his market. I've been dealing with it since 2022. When those people finally decide to stop buying, all his stuff is gonna crash down to common levels.

Lol he’s never going to be “common” level and have autos in the dollar bin with the likes of Ryder Jones, Bobby Bradley, etc. He accomplished quite a bit and was the best player on a truly historic team. I’d be quite salty too if my team didn’t do their due diligence and signed him to one of the worst contracts in the history of baseball.

Exactly. He won the MVP the year the Cubs broke their curse. Bryant will always be a fan favorite even if his Colorado career has been marred by injury.

That Topps Now Bryzzo card will go down as literally one of the most historic cards ever made.

He has more noteworthy accomplishments than many Hall of Famers -- ROY, MVP, World Series title, which broke a historic championship drought. He made a significant mark on the game. It's just stunning how far he's fallen, especially when you consider that it wasn't because of some major, career-destroying injury -- just a huge drop-off after signing his big contract.

Now I’m not doing my due diligence but has anyone ever won the Dick Howser/Golden Spikes, Minor League POY, ROY, and MVP four years in a row like Bryant did?

He helped put USD baseball on the map here in San Diego, so he still has fans here locally.

Uh, what are you talking about? Injuries have been the main reason for his downfall in Colorado. He's been suffering from chronic degenerative disc disease since 2022.

And while it wasn't a catastrophic injury, it's possibly worse. He has chronic back issues. That can pretty much end a career, albeit string it along with hopes of production, but never actually getting any. Sort of like Don Mattingly.

Bryant's market isn't "artificially propped up." It is what it is because he justifiably has a lot of people who collect his cards. That's the opposite of artificially propped up.

Dude he can’t even get out of bed some days. I’m pretty sure that qualifies.
