Card show pickup - didn't even plan on buying any MPJ, but it was a fair price due to the 8.5 grade...which I'm ok with given how sensitive these thicker Spectra cards are.

Dude can shoot the lights out, but that’s about it. Even then, he’s streaky

I was initially a believer but living in Denver and watching these games, I just haven’t seen the growth I expected.

Yep. He’s a catch and shoot guy and isn’t getting the ball much right now. I was pretty disappointed we gave him a max contract tbh. I’m not here to rain on anyone’s parade but I always felt the KD comparisons were ridiculous, however, I do feel he could develop into a decent player.

I’m just hoping the next month or so we can figure out where he works or else we’re not looking so hot this season.

basically any 6'10 forward who can shoot gets compared to KD. The only reason he was compared to KD in the 1st place was 1) HS hype (which rarely translates to the NBA) 2) Card "investors" who just browse some boxscores and make wild comparisons because they have a bunch of money invested in a guy

Kevin Knox was compared to KD on here. Just let that sink in for a minute

Exactly this. I never want to be the guy who says don't spend money on cards that you want, but I personally haven't bought an MPJ card since his rookie year as I don't feel prices have at all justified his on court performance.

I feel that if some of these guys had actually watched the games they would have come to the same conclusion. However, we all know that hype and crowd mentality can be a bit blinding. I've certainly been guilty of it myself over the years.

Obtained one MPJ slab on the dip recently (dealer was practically trying to give it away), will likely move it if he has any good post-season games - he's streaky for sure.

Thanks for everything Mike! Was a key part of the championship team and watching him fight through injuries and grow his game was a lot of fun. I like the move for the Nuggets and am excited for next year but I'll always be an MPJ fan!
