Whats your grail?
I just got back into baseball cards after a decent break. I know the term grail is used loosely, but what’s one card you own that you consider to be your grail? I just received this in the mail today and I can’t stop looking at it. Being a diehard Yankees fan, I was always a fan of Roger Maris. I’m not old enough to have seen him play, but I love classic baseball and the stories associated with it. As soon as this one popped up on eBay, I knew I had to have it. One of the nicest Maris cut autos I’ve ever seen. I’ve never owned one of his autos until now. I may have slightly overpaid, but I was determined to get it. Anyway, what’s one card in your collection you consider your grail that’ll be hard to ever let go?

Grail usually refers to something you don't have and are searching for. In that sense, the 1997 Row 0 Masterpiece Larkin would probably be a true grail for me.
The OP suggested we post what is our grail card that we own. For me, this was my grail for 25 years. I eventually got one earlier this year. It is my PC player, in my favorite set of all time. And best yet, it's jersey number 11/25!

This is my grail - I had a chance to get a copy of this card about 10 years ago. Waited too long and it was sold. Looked for about 8 years and finally one day after work (about 2 years ago), I was scrolling Instagram and saw one. Guy was going to sell it on eBay. I messaged him and we talked for a couple of days. Finally sealed the deal on Sunday. I did everything I could (such as trading a card that I didn’t want to) but I had to make sure it didn’t reach eBay. If that happened, there was no chance I could out bid other people for it.

2012 Bowman Chrome Matt Moore Super Auto. I know there are still people out there bidding and buying his stuff just dont know who they are anymore. Those supers havnt surfaced in a longggg time but I hope to be ready when they do

More rare than the T206 Wagner. First card in a Red Sox uni made the year of the first Red Sox World Series. The only card that could maybe supplant it for me is the Sporting News Babe Ruth rookie.

I hope one day to acquire a 2018 Bowman Chrome Ohtani auto (batting or pitching, doesn't really matter), preferably a colored parallel. I see the gold /50's are right up near $100k for BGS 9.5s. *eek*
My current "grail card" I have in my possession is an orange #'d to /25 50/50 set relic auto. Odds are I would need to include that card to upgrade to a '18 BC auto. |

Grail card that I own is pretty easy. Only took me 30 years to acquire one

Too many to count....but as a Giants fan, my favorite card is probably my 2020 Topps Museum Will Clark/Buster Posey/Tim Lincecum triple auto.
As for non-card items, probably the following: My ticket stubs from the Catch, the Play, and Game 3 of the 1989 World Series (Earthquake Game), all of which I attended in person. My Pablo Mastroeni match-worn USMNT jersey from the famous 3-2 win over Portugal at the 2002 World Cup, which I caught when he threw it into the stands after the match. My 1975 Topps Yount RC (T)/Brett RC (B) graded cello pack. |

*attainable if the owner ever decides to sell. Unattainable* grail: 1999 Metal Universe Randy Johnson Gem Masters 1/1 *in the current market these are being valued like Van Goghs, so if made available, it would be out of my orbit
