This was posted in the baseball sub-reddit. Chan-ho Park Creators insert super auto signed in Korean. Absolute fire pull. A little surprised his autos are going for as much as they are, but maybe I shouldn't be as he hasn't signed for a long time until this year and he is the first bigtime Korean MLB'er and is pretty much a national hero in South Korea.

He has a really strong following. His other autographs from this year have been going for crazy high prices.

The fact the above card is signed in Korean....some Park super collector probably willing to spend bigtime to get that card!

And the fact he's responsible for one of the all-time interviews in sports history only boosts his status. LOL

Gotta keep screaming though.
And I think it's amusing that you're using some random influencer as a significant representation of the hobby. I don't need to know about each and every iteration to have a firm grasp of what's going on.

The bar for hobby knowledge is apparently now set at how many influencers you’ve heard of - no wonder all my neighbors are screaming from their yards!

I was hoping all the excitement was over all their great 2025 finest pulls.

Fanatics, what have you done?

Not surprised about the price - why wouldn’t it be legit?

I didn't say he was a significant representation of the hobby. But you are one of the handful here who post like you know everything about everything and everyone else is wrong. So yes, when these type of idiosyncrasies present themselves its amusing. I want nothing to do with Geoff Wilson, but he is a big part of this hobby. If I had never heard of the dude people would be correct to question the amount of understanding I truly have about whats going on. It has nothing to do with him being a "grifter". But you, as well as a couple of your like-minded posters in here continue to prove over and over how out of touch you really are. But hey, keep on preaching. Herman and mfw love listening to it. Y'all can have your own little echo chamber about how horrible the hobby is and how evil everyone in it is.

Still pretty crazy for a non-auto, 8th year card....even if it's Ohtani and a super. But what about high-end Ohtani cards makes sense these days. lol

Low feedback bidders ran it up from 10k yesterday, but the sale is terapeak so the buyer paid. The 2025 Bowman Anime 1/1 went for $16k so I guess it's not that outrageous.

A segment of collectors (true collectors?) seem to especially love these "big-head" cards. Look at Prizmania NBA cards for another example.

I find this amusing because you frequently reference the content of hobby grifters.

I also believe the gilded gold storm super sold for around $14k as well, so for the more popular insert sets, not too unusual.

I’m personally not a huge fan of the big head movement, but as mentioned by bosox above, nothing Ohtani surprises me anymore.

I don't love these big head/Headliners either, but they appear to be getting between $200-$500 and on up on eBay.

At 1:537 packs, that's 1 in 11 to 12 cases, so I can see why. The supers are 1:1:25,623 packs. If there are 15 total Headliners, and this is the only format of this product, that means there are 8,007 total cases of Finest?

Just enough for the 4 top breakers!

Ohtani's market is over the top crazy. I'll believe pretty much anything when it comes to his cards right now. His non-auto gold /50 and orange /25 type cards sell for the prices of the auto versions for guys like Bobby Witt and Juan Soto. The only player in the league that's even in his same universe price wise is Aaron Judge, and it's still not close.

Ohtani Gold refractors (true, speckled, wave, whatever) of '25 TC #1 are going for $750+ these days. Equivalent Judge /50s have been going for maybe around $150? Even if you factor Judge being hurt and pump his /50's up to say $250 value, still nowhere even close to Ohtani.

True golds have been going up for a while.

In the days of rainbows for every color, and even rainbows within a color (wave/geometric/sparkle/glitter/elephant shi*), best to stick with true OG stuff.

Then the only comp I really have is peak LeBron, in terms of how far ahead of the pack he is.

I mean as another anecdote to how popular Ohtani is, you have legions of Ohtani superfans in South Korea. That might not seem too surprising at first glance, but if you know the history behind South Korea and Japan (and the whole Japan occupied SK in the early 1900's and committed all kinds of atrocities), there has always been a certain level of ill will and disdain South Koreans have harbored towards Japanese people in general. But even that doesn't affect his popularity in SK.

I'm sure there are huge swaths of Ohtani collectors that don't even care about baseball that much, but are purely interested in the sport because of Ohtani and him alone. The guy transcends baseball.
