What could rival or trump this dual logoman (and its eventual sale price)? Maybe the Curry rookie superfractor if it's ever found?

Bingo, but people don't like hearing that

I mean 99% of us plebes will never even be affected by their shenanigans if that's what they're doing though. Pumping grail cards higher and higher doesn't really affect the lower end where most of us operate I think.

Like the Ohtani rookie autos that have 2-3x'ed over the past year, his lower end (sub-$500) rookies haven't gone up anywhere near as much, for example.

99%? You mean more like 50%. I guess you haven't seen all the plebes getting funded to buy the $10k, $50k, $100k+ cards then selling a few weeks later. You don't even get noticed if you post anything less than a $10k card on IG lol

I mean $12k for a Jay Cutler Black Finite? Had to be a moron and per the NYP article he had to get funded for that purchase. Needed to get funded for a $12k card purchase shows that you shouldn't be playing around in the big leagues

$12k in debt, but at least the goal of validation and attention was achieved

It's all a richard measuring contest now to see who the biggest dummy is

No regulation, no transparency...what do we expect?

Of course the market is manipulated.

And places like ebay and every auction house love every minute of it.

The way things are currently set up, what's the incentive for these big guys to play it straight?

The Luka black Prizm rookie maybe even more so, if his Lakers outperform. So many diamond hands in that market just waiting for a breakthrough.

I wonder if legendary cards increase in value as years go by and they aren't found? I mean either a kid opened a pack and forgot about it or it's in a non-CT'd stash.

People flashing a $12K Jay Cutler along with their $10K intro level rolex while sporting a Jesus cross chain, broccoli hair and wearing the latest pump cover while throwing around fancy intellectual words like "bet" are my FAVORITE people in the world

I had an offer come in via Veriswap for my PSA 8 2009 UD Signature Collection Curry auto that included a PSA 7 2009 Topps Hobby pack (theoretically could contain the Curry super?) along with an IP Steph auto and some other card. I mulled it over briefly before declining, as I knew the only way that trade would ever make sense is if I never opened that pack, but knowing me resisting the urge to eventually crack the slab and open it would be too much. LOL

PackNicholson bought it and explained it all on the Football Card Podcast with Brett STacking slabs. ( a great pod)

Pack has plenty in card value that if he wanted to buy the Cutler like he did but didnt want to pay 12k liquid in that moment its not a big deal to use the funding service and send wharf cards on consignment to then pay off the Cutler.

Many people sell cards to buy cards, but instead of having to rush and sell in 5 days before a listing ends you got a month or whatever.

He's a huge bears collector and obviously someone else bid that high so it is what it is.

A collector won, Good for him.

I think any decent player's black Prizm 1/1 should be worth more than $10k.

That's my point

From my understanding and correct me if I'm wrong, all the funded services (there's multiple out there now) do the bidding and you tell them what your max bid is

What's to stop them from telling a friend/employee and bidding it up close to the max? I mean it's more money in their pockets

Unregulated and no transparency, as stated above, so who would ever know?

As for the dual, I guess the major thing beyond the players is that Jordan's is a gold logo man from the 75th season of NBA. I am not sure how they extrapolate from that that the regular Kobe logoman is also from 1996, but they do, which makes it a rookie Kobe logoman.

I mean, it is an Exquisite card manufactured well after the fact, but then they are not manufacturing any more Exquisite Kobe/Jordan duals.
I believe all jerseys from the NBA's 50th season (96-97) had the gold logomen, so all Kobe rookie logomen are gold. Anything else is from 2nd year on.

KB had more than 100 NT logomen produced alone.

Need to stop tuning into these kardboard evangelists for knowledge, breh.

Assuming he mis-spoke. Only three Flawless Logoman AUTOS were ever produced. Shyne has two and the owner of the third one turned down his offer to buy.

That certainly makes a lot more sense.

It gives me warm fuzzies knowing dollar general Pitbull didn't secure the final Infinity Stone.

Pretty crazy. More high wealth people entering the space make items like this status symbols and a game for them. Give me the 1952 Mantle SGC 9 anyday over this IMO.

When it comes time to sell, are there many buyers for a card like that aside from Pitbull?
