Bradys popularity showing out in this list!

went and found it in case anyone was as curious as me…

I was also surprised the Pujols BC refractor auto was so low I would have had that top 10 or maybe even top 5. it is a very important card.

I agree 100% and know that, Vintage is considered an era. But the literal term is a moving target. So he may not be wrong, well in another 25-50 years.

I think, well no, I know that a lot of people in this space are gambling addicts or like to gamble at least. Hence the prospecting, and betting on outcomes. So that's no surprise at all. Even someone like Trout who was killing it...

We can apply this today to Shohei Ohtani and comically Caitlin Clark.

Refrencing again, the multiple Caitlin Clark RPAs that went on Fanatics for over 250k and over 350-400k.

It's just such a comically bad investment. WNBA first off. Secondly, she has played 1.5 seasons and has been hurt all year in season 2. So much hype. Speaking of Brady trades, you could buy a champ ticket instead or 10 good autos and still have 200-300k+ left over. Obviously the people spending this money on Caitlin Clarks, and other ludicrous high end fake patch or niche stuff, are just stupid rich and 100k to them is probably 100-1k to normal people.

Unless someone can somehow relate it to Brady? GOAT stuff going up?
Yeah I'll call that a fake sale. I'd bet that's fake on some significant level. It was Kevin O'Leary purchasing right? PR stunt, marketing, etc.

Not Brady RC related, but I've seen more than one person list their 2017 Brady card and point out that it's Mahomes Rookie Year.

Surely this isn't a selling point? Really?

It's not a selling point, it’s a search term.

What do you mean? If someone wants a 2017 Brady how would rookie, or Mahomes etc be related to Brady?

It's the other way around. Now everyone that searches for a 2017 Mahomes or Mahomes rookie is going to see a 2017 Brady card for sale. Most likely that person isn't going to be interested in a 2017 Brady but it puts more eyeballs on the card and it only takes one person.

I wouldnt bid/buy a card listed under false pretenses like that on principle.

It doesn’t even make any sense lol if someone wants a Mahomes rookie and wound up with a 2017 Brady, that’s on them lol

it is just a dishonest sales technique attempting to lure more views from people looking for different cards. very disingenuous.

Where I saw wasn't even a searchable listing, it was a brag post on an Instagram story.

I know people here have insane cards but what’s your favorite card for up to a few thousand or less? Any auto is great but non auto the Donruss /1325 is one of my favorites

What’s your favorite action shot of him, rookie card wise? Hard to beat the Fleer ultra! About to throw with that classic Brady look

Fleer Showcase is a favorite of mine. I also like the action shot of him. also in full Patriots uniform. you could get a 6 or a 7 for a few thousand i think

It depends. If it's the 2017 Prizm gold Brady /10 and there are only 5 known to be out there, that would be a selling point. Since Mahomes' rookies keep the price of 2017 was so high, odds are that there will be no other Bradys pulled due to the price of 2017 Prizm wax.

That's just an outlier, though. If it's just some random card, it makes no sense.

Despite the increase lately, isn’t it crazy how you can get almost every base rookie card for relatively cheap? Other than what, his top few cards a nice grade of all the rest seems to be $2,000 or less, with lots $1,000 or less

The insane values always mentioned here aren’t what 99% of the people are paying or even interested in since they’ll never pay that price

As far as everyday rookies goes

it does seem funny, doesnt it. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Tom has 44 rookies to choose from, and many were from lower tiered products. just a lot to choose from.

i think cheap is a relative term though. there are quite a few rookies going frequently for between $1k-$4k. that is a lot of money for most people to spend on a football card!

Did he just confirm, in his own words, what he has been arguing so intently on with everyone else on? That everything else Brady (aka color matches & inserts) are increasing at a much faster pace while most Brady rookies (his ultimate investment) can still be had “cheap”?

You cant make this stuff up.

And 44 different rookie choices for the casual collector to choose from is most certainly the reason why they have and wont increase at the same pace bc theyre competing with each other. And lower tier brands. And Michigan uniforms. And Practice gear. And sweat pants.

Meanwhile cards like the ‘02 Topps Hobbymasters PSA 9 (Topps first insert) has gone from $40 to $400 in less than a year. Have any of these 44 rookies had that type of increase dollar OR percentage-wise?
