Congrats! I like the Altuve! Nice Crews Sapphire Selections too…I’ve always been partial to the Sapphire Selections autos. Can’t wait to see what the Ohtani looks like.

The Altuve got snatched up quickly by a buyer. More than half way to my box price, lol. I'l probably PC the Crews card unless I got an offer I can't refuse plus a few base cards.

I mean…Topps didn’t make this available to the general public for the most part other than Montgomery club. It was bound to cause prices to spike in the short term. Nobody except a select few can get their hands on it, so FOMO took hold. Genius distribution strategy! Take a $300 product, artificially limit supply, so you can charge double the price on market and use it as justification to raise it for next year when rookie class ya going to be much deeper than this year.

Nothing insane but a really fun rip that absolutely destroyed my 2 chrome Jumbos + the 5 Logofractor boxes I opened. Maybe one year I’ll learn?

DealerNet is a private site for dealers that requires a log-in and monthly subscription fee. They can't manipulate the market because A.) They are selling to each other, and B.) For stuff like this, Dealernet is ahead of the market and transactions are at a higher price point. The breakers/dealers/shops want quantity and that is the best place to get it most of the time. Additionally, a lot of those guys and gals will not buy straight from ebay, just because of the potential headache of getting 1 box in at a time. There are other products where Dealernet is behind the market and transactions are at a lower price point. One just has to know the market well enough to know which one you are looking at. So I agree, it isn't really manipulation. Sure, there is always speculation, but that isn't the same as manipulation.

This release was a slam dunk from the start. I scratched my head at some point who didn't want it. As previously mentioned, last years had the entire 700 card checklist so its really hard to hit anyone good in the base. This years is better with the base checklist, smaller autograph checklist, and also the potential to hit a monster like Ohtani. To think it would be cheaper than last years doesn't really make logical sense. It was destined to go to a minimum of $800 a box. A lot of boxes have also had multiple autographs.
