More evidence that PSA continues to struggle with consistency when it comes to grades. Congrats on the bumps!

Outside of centering, every other “standard” they have is subjective. There’s so much room for one to say, “That’s a 9” and another to say, “That’s a 10”. It’s not an exact science and I’ll take the inconsistency between graders over a rigid standard that everyone will complain about as much, if not more, than what we currently have.

Totally see your point. But that model forces you to subject the cards to their process by subbing everything multiple times for them to eventually get it right (assuming your cards are not damaged one of those times!). I think their grading scale IS a rigid standard that they use (or are supposed to use)—but they don’t always follow it. They are reluctant to assign a card a 10 even when it meets that rigid standard OR they are grading cards lower simply by what era they are from—despite meeting the rigid standards of higher grades. And this hesitancy and suppression is all proven when you actually get that higher grade on a resub! That’s the true problem that they have. Especially when mega-submitters’ mega orders are off to the side getting the GEM MINT 10 rubber stamp treatment!

Inconsistencies are going to happen, but to make matters worse, they have different graders with different interpretations of their own grading scale. This is sinking the integrity of entire BULK subs—which is extremely costly to correct for regular people. Not to mention hoards of cards sitting in slabs that have the wrong grades. It’s definitely a mess.

Damn. Six weeks in Research & ID is excessive. I guess I'll quit looking for a bit since mine have only been there for two weeks.

I'd rather have a more rigid standard, if I'm honest. I'm also one of those people who think the strike zone should be computerized, so that probably makes me a leper in the company of this forum. I would rather PSA get it right than have so much variance when it comes to the grades they assign. It doesn't help that their so-called expert graders are people paid less per hour than it does to send one single card. To me, it's far too subjective with so much money on the line.

We need to figure out a new way to see the grades when it gets past grading.

Value bulk

sent prior to the 45 day announcement, but would be odd to say new orders are good for 45 days but old ones remain in purgatory land. But nothing surprises me in this "hobby" in 2025

Vintage or moden? My modern and tcg orders from around that time are all in QA, but my vintage orders from that time period are all in RID still. IT seems they are way behind on vintage.

Just noticed my estimated completion date changed from 10/8/2025 to 12/1/2025, which is weird. I've noticed my orders through the psa canada submission center is usually a bit faster, im fairly sure they are getting some type of priority.

Modern, really shouldn't be a hold up, but alas

I'm over a month in Research on my bulk orders as well.

All were marked as "arrived" on 7/10, all checked off as "order prep" on 7/25, still in research as today.

Would have hoped they at least moved to grading by now. Expected completion of 10/27, so I didn't expect them to be close to done by now, but I was at least hoping they might be done before the WS, which now feels not super likely

All five of my June bulk orders have been completed, which had an estimated completion date of Sept 18, and one July order is currently in QA. It seems like they are catching up.

This is good to know! I recently submitted a serial-numbered card that I think is undergraded due to the design making the front of the card look off-center top to bottom even though it isn't. Wasn't sure if I could resubmit as PSA has recorded the serial-number.
