I've been donating base to those little book libraries in my neighborhood if you have those

What have you folks done in the past when dealing with stuff like this?
Give to kids if you want to get rid of them.

or if you want to make a little money, load up medium flat rate boxes and sell them on ebay, which should sell for about $40+ postage paid.

Or craigslist the entire lot for a quick sale.

Wish I had that

I’ve got probably 35-40 5,000 count boxes in my basement. It’s not just commons. It’s my entire collection as a kid

Nothing super high end, that I would remember, but pick a player (say Albert Belle as he was my dude) and there are probably 100-150 of them

I wasn’t a huge Griffey guy but easily 20-25 in the boxes. Again I wasn’t a dummy, probably no rookies or inserts, but it’s not 175,000 commons

I’d take $50 a box all day long for someone to just haul it up the stairs

I’ve had good luck moving 70s cards in lots on eBay. I usually sort them into partial sets and advertise them as such with scans of a sample of the lot. I’ve also done the same with early 80s cards as well. I’ve never had much luck selling junk wax, but that was early on, and I have pick-em listings on eBay for those.

I would just sell the rest on marketplace per box.

I’m a sucker for random boxes of cards. I’ll usually pay $20 or so for a 5K box of junk wax. If it’s newer stuff and I need it to fill sets I’ll pay up maybe $40 for a 3200ct box for commons.

Hopefully you have someone like me in your area. Lol

if its junk wax, just recycle or bonfire. I highly doubt few if any kids would want a pile of 88 Donruss or 91 fleer. I had boxes of stuff I collected as a kid in my parents basement for years. Went through it, pulled the Cardinals, Reds, McGwires, and burned the rest. I don't think anyone would have been happy to have boxes of junk commons from 87-92

Facebook Marketplace - someone will either think they're getting a steal or will want to bolster their collection.

Someone on blowout posted that they're paying 1 cent for 500 unwanted base cards. That's an option.

I hate seeing cards thrown away even base. I'd create packs for kids schools or something.
