Pretty rough day for the SEC. It’s on LSU to save face.

Gonna guess Bama still has nothing but 4 & 5 star D-Linemen and LBs getting gashed for 200+ on the ground

This is an absolute pathetic performance by Bama. Great performance by Florida St. Congrats Noles on your victory today.

Odd thing to say..

Only 2 teams have lost...

And Texas only lost by a TD to #3 Ohio St, in Columbus

Simpson finally showed some grit on that last run, but was just short..

That said, he whiffed earlier in the game on 2 other 4th downs...badly..

And the defense was gashed...

Gonna be a tough season it seems

He got overwhelmed and DeBoer should have put in either Mack or Russell and given Simpson a few series to sit down and try to get out of his own head.

Castellanos is running all over our defense. He talked his noise and backed it up. Kudos to him.

This game shows 2 things.

1. Bama needed this reality check/humbling to get their stuff together.

2. FSU may have something cooking in Tallahassee.

Florida doing their part running up the score and passing up 48-0, I hope USF kicks their butt next week

Those two teams happened to each be top 10 schools. So yeah each of them losing is a big deal. You say “only 2 lost” but when I made the statement, only 3 played P4 schools.

LSU did indeed help the conference save face, but still it’s 2-2 today against the P4 for the almighty SEC.

I don’t think they have much stuff to get together this year.

Always love the Week 1 overreactions where according to the Blowout Experts every team that lost is now out of the playoffs and every team that won should be in the top 5.

Nobody for one second should have thought Florida St. was as bad as they were last year with all the Injury issues. And I will tell you now they also aren't as good as Bama made them look today either. At best they will be a fringe team vying for one of the last 2 playoff spots at best.

So in Summary the Week 1 Recap goes like this....Georgia once again played a nobody team but still act like they should jump to #1, Bama was unprepared from coaches to players and there are no excuses they had their asses handed to them, Arch Manning I thought did about what should have been expected in that caliber of game on the road against the defending National Champions but somehow he's now washed up and should just quit football, and Clemson again showed everyone that they are overrated.

Agree with most of this, but Arch Manning seeming to have a much weaker arm than advertised is concerning. Is he battling some sort of injury or something?

He was throwing bullets out there so I don’t see where you’re getting the weak arm. His problem was his bullets missed their marks more often than not.

I don’t see anyone here overreacting. Texas is most likely still playoff bound but make no mistake, this was a very bad loss for Alabama and they won’t be playoff bound. 5 losses is very much in the realm of possibility for them.

The one that stood out the most was the cross field pass (need strength to get it there) that got intercepted. It had no chance of making it to where he wanted it to go.

yep. gonna take a couple more years for that to be a common sentiment, but the more people realize alabama’s dominance was bc of the money they were paying and when you take that away (or give it to everyone else as the case may be), they’re just another school in tuscaloosa, alabama, the more people will see the big ten’s inherent advantages. and the rules will probably change bc of it it.

in another universe where the sec is still the only schools paying players, justice haynes runs for 158 yards and 3 td’s and that’s the difference in winning/losing to fsu.

in this universe, michigan out-paid them and have themselves an elite, game-changing back.

Bryce looked pretty good. Needs more receivers who can catch.

Bama could easily lose 6 or 7 I think.

At least there was one bright spot for me in that shellacking:

I still think with the combo of NIL/portal, there will be big difference between the top programs and everybody else. All the top talent will coalesce with those teams. So claiming be the best conference comes down to these handful of games every years. Talking OSU/Texas. When we get to 16 team playoff and 5 auto bids for those two. For example, for 5 auto-bids of Big Ten. Oregon, Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn State will be four of those every year. USC can be the 5th if they get their poop together. The last at large spot can go to current year Indiana scenario.

Sam's thing with SEC. How often will LSU, Georgia, Texas, etc not be in the top 5 of the conference? Florida, Bama right there.

Will be interesting to see how the full playoff scenario plays out next year.

I watched the game.

Michigan struggled at times and the final score was about 20 points closer than it should have been.

First game of the season, freshman QB, lots of very young players in the secondary = a few struggles expected. Not a big deal - on to Norman.

Edit: blown call on a non-catch extended a NM scoring drive, as did a questionable targeting call on Barham.
