You cant make this stuff up.

And 44 different rookie choices for the casual collector to choose from is most certainly the reason why they have and wont increase at the same pace bc theyre competing with each other. And lower tier brands. And Michigan uniforms. And Practice gear. And sweat pants.

Meanwhile cards like the ‘02 Topps Hobbymasters PSA 9 (Topps first insert) has gone from $40 to $400 in less than a year. Have any of these 44 rookies had that type of increase dollar OR percentage-wise?
It’s been mentioned multiple times by others that people have stupid $ to spend, someone mentioned a Caitlin Clark card here going for
Hundreds of thousands making no sense. I agree, but people have $ and they can buy whatever they want

There’s a billion examples lol most people would do just fine with a Toyota car/truck, but people buy Mercedes, bmw, super cars etc

Absolutely! Just goes to show all the different choices people make.

$30-$40k would get you most Brady rookies (obviously not the top few) in an average grade of 6-7. Or for that same amount or more you see people buying one card of someone that has done much less

There's a first year Brady Donruss Optic gold (2016) on the bay right now for $8000

Looking at the way the prizm golds have performed, what do you guys think of the optic golds as kind of a second order product? We've already seen optic cards do well for Mahomes

Wow, at this point who knows! Going to be some crazy last minute action I bet. What’s your guess... Think they’ll both go for close to $50k? Or will one “surprise” and go for over $60k? Given how we think there’s been an increase lately/season now here etc

When is the last time you’ve seen a PSA 10 available? Just insane.

Obviously way out of my range lol but seems like it’ll easily exceed $20,000?

Why do you think some of his numbered cards don’t have the number on it?

Seems odd to make a certain amount, but not have it on the card.

Pacific auto (200), mystique gold (500), and black Diamond (2400?), are a few I can think of with no number on it….that supposedly have a certain number of each. Yet the mystique /2000 and black Diamond gold /500 do have the number…lol

that is a good question. I think only the original card manufacturers could answer it. look at the wierd numbering on so many pacific rookies. 278, 79, etc. seemingly no rhyme or reason. I wonder if it was because of how many cards they printed on an uncut sheet? round numbers seem to make more sense to me like 2000 showcase or 1000 pros and prospects.

I dont really have a good estimate for the ROY. it is not a card i have ever really been interested in as it was really a redemption card with no normal card back with stats etc.

Just like the prizms, I’d imagine the really high price is because of the low print run

Its nothing like the “prizms”. As davey pointed out, unlike prizms, it was a pack issued redemption. Unlike the prizms, it has no stats or a Brady bio. And when you say “prizms” I assume you are referring to the golds, which are numbered. You even ask “I wonder how many ROY cards were produced” which unlike prizm golds are unnumbered. Another obvious & glaring difference amongst the ROY and prizms is the card stock. Paper vs a chrome product therefore creating another difference. One is shiny & the other is not.

I love the ROY redemption card but its kinda odd how you keep trying to gaskight anything prizm. How you even attempt to circle back on a ROY redemption card to knock “prizms” is beyond weird and glaringly obvious. If thry arent your bag, and they obviously arent, then just leave it at that. Youd get more respect around here vs throwing subliminal shade, kid.

I'm not sure Optic will track at the same rate for Mahomes and Brady. Brady has too many other low-numbered parallels to chase before his collectors get to Optic. Early year Bowman Chrome, Finest, Topps Chrome, and Select parallels would command more than even a first-year Optic gold /10. Plus, many view Mahomes' Opic rookie parallels as superior to his Prizm rookie parallels.

Really? Which Optic parallels are considered superior to Prizm Gold, Red SSP, White Sparkle, and Camo?

I was referring to the low print run, pretty simple

You always write paragraphs that don’t even make any sense

the 2 big cards are ending tonight. It sure looks like I was wrong about the Refractor outselling the Rookie Ticket.

I am so bad about estimating prices/values
