That one seemed a bit higher than usual, but they are close to $1,000 on average! As of now

Why do you think we're seeing an increase in prices?

It seems that many high end cards are increasing by leaps and bounds. I feel like it is a rising tide lifts all boats scenario.

Probably people want to put money into cards and some are choosing the goats.

That is my guess anyway

Chiefs schedule isn’t easy at all. Those that mentioned how he’s always played in the championship game, common sense says that isn’t always going to happen, this year as a high chance example

After KC (notice I said KC, not Mahomes) laid that egg in the 3 peat SB opp coupled with each Chiefs loss (notice i said Chiefs, not Mahomes again) from here on out, the Brady market will go up. Not by leaps & bounds but the 1-5% will add up TVM-style. And with each early post season exit by the Chiefs from here on out will create a noticeable new floor just as it did this past summer. Again, think TVM style. He literally doesnt have to do a damn thing other than not pull a Ruggs or OJ.

The train slowly left the station the past three months or so. Started with meager 1-3% blips on the radar each month during the summer. However lately its been quite noticeable & the train is picking up steam. Both rookies and inserts, variations & parallels have been bought at high BINS that were sitting stagnant for a year+ now.

As supply starts to dwindle, new collectors/investors want something safe/solid, the percentage of growth will only continue to explode. Should something drastic happen to the Chiefs or to Mahomes (I hope nothing does. He’s good for Football & Brady in general) todays prices will absolutely seem like steals.

Final key component to the increase is that Brady is on the brink of slowly pulling in a lot of baseball, basketball & hockey card collectors that were mainly dedicated to their respective sports into the Brady market. Errily similar to guys named Ruth, Mantle, Jordan, Gretzky, etc. 99% of all cardboard collectors either already have or wouldnt mind having at least one display card of one of these guys in their collection if not just for display or key collection diversity similar to a hedge fund. Those guys just dont go down in value (covid aside) on a 5, 10, 20 year tucked-away-timeline. The nostalgia years are a head of us as well. Knicks, 76ers, Suns fans didnt want Jordan in the 90s-00s. But now that the ass kickings have ceased and Dads are now fondly telling their kids that they witnessed Jordan open up that can on their team, the same is coming up with Brady. He’s not making the rest of the league cry any longer + time heals all.

No doubt, the time to buy was the past two years. Thats not to say, its too late either but hesitation certainly leads to masturbation & those “shoulda, coulda & woulda” knuckle children.

Key advice? Dont be that guy, 10 years down the road w/ his own junk in his hand, talking about the girls he “coulda” banged. Start putting notches on the headboard. And dont just hit on the 10s. Those 7s, 8s and 9s will do just fine looking back. Trust me.

I'll add to this advice, If you already have the 2000 Bowman Brady RC, I’d definitely recommend grabbing the full 2000 Bowman Football base set(including the 2 Checklists). It’s a fun set to own, doesn’t break the bank, and really rounds out the Brady rookie. No, it’s not the ’86 Fleer of Basketball, but for what it is, it’s a solid set with some nice rookies and veterans mixed in. A great pickup for the collection.

Notable Rookies from the Set including card number.

Quarterbacks (RC)

#236 Tom Brady **Future Hofer**
#173 Chad Pennington --> Brady 6 **2x Comeback player of the year**
#232 Marc Bulger --> Brady 6
#180 Tee Martin --> Brady 6
#229 Spergon Wynn --> Brady 6
#171 Chris Redman --> Brady 6

I've listed 5 out of the 6 QB's that are from the Famous NFL Films "The Brady 6 Documentary" not included in the set was Giovanni Carmazzi, 5 of 6 of these Qbs were drafted ahead of Brady.

Running Backs (RC)

#170 Jamal Lewis **Potential Hofer**
#177 Shaun Alexander **Potential Hofer**
#168 Thomas Jones 10k Rusher, Currently Actor
#172 Ron Dayne

Wide Receivers / Returners (RC)

#174 Plaxico Burress 2x SB champion
#192 Laveranues Coles
#223 Dante Hall **Might be the 2nd best PR/Special teams player for that era after Hester**
#195 Dennis Northcutt

Defense (RC)

#178 Brian Urlacher Hofer Class of 2018
#222 John Abraham **Potential Hofer**
#226 Julian Peterson **Could have a case for Hof through Voting Committee**
#190 Corey Simon **Politician**

It seems many of us live rent free in your mind, given the amount of time you spend attacking posters. This is a card forum meant for sharing and enjoying the hobby.

Most seem to have forgotten (previous posters) this is supposed to be specifically a brady rookie card thread. Unlike whatever it’s turned into

Sorry for actually wanting to keep Brady rookies as the topic

It's morphed into the main Brady discussion thread and most people enjoy that. And most of those same people don't mind when you actually contribute to it (like when you asked about which card you should target next), but your attempt at gatekeeping what Brady content makes it and what Brady content shouldn't be discussed makes you the kid who's birthday party no one wants to go to because you're going to complain that someone got you the wrong Ninja Turtle.

Just chill out, let people discuss what they want to discuss involving Brady, and you might get invited to the next party. Brady's retired and there's nothing left to do except to bask in the glory of it all, don't be the party pooper.
