I told myself before I was not gonna do CGC bulk again after they were 2 weeks-ish late on my last bulk order, all while I was reading about economy’s getting done quicker than usual. But I just went against that to save $250. I full expect this bulk order to be a very long thing, possibly longer than the estimate.

That makes sense about the placeholder status, I think that’s most likely. No way they’d actually be grading that 2 days after arrival for economy.
Sports bulk is more problematic than TCG because there is not an off season for Charizard! Lol! I would use economy for big orders, never more than 20 to get stuff back. I have also been buying discounted CGC 10’s because people are blind to the fact that CGC and PSA use the same standard for grading. Oh well! Things are changing, at least for TCG. These just look better!

First update...They marked it as received last night though they are saying 80 cards, not 81. I wonder what I missed or if they miscounted. I'll find out when they log them.

Nice. I am working on a 10 card submission, including 3 Japanese Pikachu McDonald’s promo

FYI for all recent CGC submitters (including me), it looks like TATs on the CGC boards are brutal, with double (and longer!) times for bulk and economy at least.

They must have received a bunch of cards for the sports special. That is a good thing. But, as I mentioned before. First time submitter getting their cards back in 5 months isn't going to help their cause for repeat business. "Quick" economy is now 40 days.

I hope this means my bulk submission from May is now going to be another 20 days. It has already been extended since my cards have been there. 60 days, they should be back next week. I was thinking about a bulk, I may wait. They are PC so in the end, an extra couple months really doesn't matter. Still, getting cards back end of January, beginning of February is a long time.

Football cards sent right now. You won't get them back until the season is done (or close to). Yikes!!

Bulk is now longer than PSA and why I recommended the other services. That means they got a lot of cards with their special.

I agree. They have made an impact and likely lots of SGC never PSA people are using them for the first time. The new people are going to have to be patient.

New people are going to go back to PSA when CGC has their cards hostage for 5-6 months

I wouldn't go back to PSA even if they hold my cards for a year. I would use HGA before PSA if they go back into business. I trust Mike Baker more than PSA to grade my cards.

People need to view the different price options instead of just gravitating to bulk. Bulk is bad for both companies, but yes if the TAT is 80 days, going with PSA for ROI reasons only makes sense.

You might sit in scheduled for a while, but at least you know your cards are in the queue.

Nope, 5-22 here. Still "scheduled for grading". Same as the past three months.

Great idea CGC! Have a 25% special to get new people interested in your company and return their cards in 2026. I am sure that your new customers will be ecstatic about this, especially since when they submitted it was around 40 days estimated. Peter was the only one who had half a brain in the grading industry and he was of course forced out.

Bulk. JSA as well, so that adds two weeks. The original estimate was two weeks ago. Of course, they have doubled everything since I submitted. So who knows now. I have delayed doing another bulk. Any cards submitted now (or the past couple weeks) aren't coming back until January, minimum. I am seeing nearly 25k a day via gemrate. This month is going to big numbers for them. I don't think they will get any repeat business, at least for sportscards. Take longer and sell for less than PSA is not going to win any customers. They need to be cheaper grading and much faster turnaround, that is the trade off for less resale.

I've got an economy sub in that was received 8/11 - went to SFG on 9/5. CGC site showing 40 day TAT, which was the same as when I submitted. Based on what I'm reading on the CGC boards though, I don't expect them to make the TAT.

whoa, that's crazy...my 9 card economy (TCG) was received 8/13 and went to SFG on 8/18, but has been sitting there ever since

Default Running CGC (old CSG) Order Tracker

Got a wild one. Had an economy submission of like 10 cards delivered to CGC sometime mid Aug. In 2 days after delivery it was in Grading, Encap, Imaging. Done and shipped in about a week. Received it back within 1.5 weeks.

Meanwhile, had a Bulk sub of 80 cards delivered the same time to CGC….that’ll probably take like 80 days! (based on bulk seeming to take the full time based on my experience). 80 Working days, so whatever that is, 4 months. Hmm like 7 days or 4 months…why does the discrepancy between economy and bulk have to be so massive (now double thinking if the $3 a card = $240 total that I saved doing bulk was even worth it. Should have just done economy).

TAT makes no sense, but I can confirm when you pay more to grade, express or at thr $45 price you indeed get them within the TAT, as you should. My last express was finished in 4 days.

Second update. Though they confirmed receipt of the cards on 8/27, they have not yet logged them. I submitted Bulk so I really don't care about the Turn around time, but it would be nice if there were just updates on the progress. That's a problem with all grading companies. And the missing card was on me. For some reason I forgot to include it in the package.
