Default PSA 10/10 Day - Should I/we Care?

I live close to the mothership - does anyone know what this is? They vaguely promised "hobby fun, giveaways and more" - I'm picturing a ferris wheel and PSA 10 Jordan RCs given away to all.

Joking aside, is this even a thing?

Curious what people know.

I have no idea how to interpret this.

I got that part. And themed to PSA 10s.

I can go down to their offices as the email invite indicated… just wasn’t sure what to expect. Discount on subs? Etc.

Last year they had a coupon code which gave you a $10.10 per card discount on up to 10 cards submitted at the $39.99 Value Plus level.

I'm certainly not going to hold my breath and assume we will get something like that this year due to the backlog PSA currently has. However with the discount only lasting one day, I can't imagine it would overwhelm them like say a $15.99 monthly special would. I might look for ten cards to submit just in case they do decide to bring this back.

Last year, the two main offers were the $10.10 off Value Plus mentioned above, and 30% off collector's club memberships. In person they might have other deals, but we're not really sure, I don't remember anyone reporting last year from the onsite event.

For their giveaways, they are sending out tickets with the September issue of the PSA Magazine. Base tickets, 100 red tickets, and 3 gold tickets. The 3 gold tickets get their choice of 6 cards that PSA has listed in this article (2 cards for each winner):
https://www.psacard.com/articles/art...-golden-ticket

I would guess the other tickets get put in drawings, and would expect the 100 red tickets are for better prizes than the base tickets. But really no idea, since the promotion details don't give any information except for the 3 gold tickets.

Hmm. Maybe I’ll check it out. It’s close to home and all I do is work otherwise.

Just here to point out that the Gold Tickets allow you choose from six PSA 10 cards including 2020 Yu-Gi-Oh! 1st Edition Blue-Eyes White Dragon #EN001 Maximum Gold.

Except the picture is of a PSA 8

Maybe they need people to submit more of that card because they don't have a PSA 10 yet?

Last year they offered 30% of NEW collectors club memberships. I had a membership but it was only a month from expiring so I got a new membership on my other email account to take advantage of the deal. This year i will not be renewing that membership, if they offer 30% off i may use a different email address and get a new membership on that. Worth noting that also came with card ladder and $100 on fanatics live credits which i used to buy a 1969 Johnny Bench SGC 4, so overall a pretty solid deal.

My magazine came today (even though I let my subscription expire 4 months ago) with a base ticket. What does a base ticket get me, other than more heartache?

Your guess is as good as ours. Does the ticket say anything on it? Best guess is that it enters you into a drawing with long odds (since there are likely thousands of base tickets).

No useful info. It doesn’t look like there is any unique number on it anywhere either. I couldn’t remember if they did these or not last year. I don’t remember anything special about them if they did.

I got the same generic ticket, I think it's just an advertisement.

The generic ticket is also red correct? Just not "foil"?

Base ticket is definitely just an advertisement for the 10/10 day. There are 10 "golden tickets" that actually win you something, but I would imagine those were sent to friends, family, or some of the larger spenders on grading

$10.10 off per card for orders Value max and up. that's not "horrible", per se...it's as cheap as it's gonna get right now.

Better than full price.

Don't expect any deals on bulk level tiers for at least a year. Right now using a middleman is your best bet as they have decently discounted rates vs going to PSA direct.

Obviously better than full price, but I would never use those services unless they automatically bumped me into them. If it was regular Value at least it would be something that people would try to use. I will assume very few people are submitting anything at these tiers. I get that they are backed up and busy, then just don't do it or make a huge deal about it.

I received the PSA 10/10 Day email at 10:05 this morning. If they had waited 5 more minutes to send then that would have been the most thought put into the entire promotion. They were not even able to not screw that up.

I don't see the point of going down there if there's nothing special going on.

Struggling to see what the point of 10/10 day is - to sell some merch and give $10 off 10 cards at the highest grading price levels? That's it?
