Please keep him off playoff roster. We would have 100 wins. He has blown so many great starts recently.

They clearly need to move some starters to the pen for the playoffs.

If the Dodgers advance to the NLCS, I almost guarantee that at some point we'll see Ohtani come on to pitch in relief. The bullpen is that bad I can totally see the Dodgers making a desperation move like that.

Is it desperation though? They have Glasnow, Snell, Yamamoto, Ohtani, Kershaw. You don't need a 5 man rotation in the playoffs.

I'm sure the last thing they want to do is make Ohtani do something he hasn't done ever in MLB (though he did do it at the WBC a couple years ago). Especially after just ramping up to being able to pitch 6+ innings.

But if their playoff life is on the line (or possibly a series clinching W) and they have the lead going into the 9th, are they gonna really put Tanner Scott or Blake Treinan in the game when Ohtani is an option?

I would think its a near certainty that Kershaw and Sheehan start the playoffs in the bullpen.

I'm guessing some kind of combo of those two plus Vesia will be the go to guys in the playoffs out of the pen until at least the NLCS (if the Dodgers get there).

The big four have been so money lately that I can't imagine Roberts doesn't lean on those guys. And all of them have been to the WS before so they are a playoff hardened bunch. I do wonder how Kershaw plays out of the pen, considering his first inning struggles this year.

He is so zoned in right now, zero chance Ohtani doesn't start in the playoffs. Unless something changes, Treinan, Scott, and Yates have zero business stepping on a mound.

In my assessment above, I forgot about Sasaki hitting 100 in AAA. I imagine he gets a couple appearances before the end of the season and he might turn into a great option. Sheehan hits the high 90's and his location has been fantastic lately. I wonder if pitching one inning at a time he can also crank it up over 100.

Padregs gave us a gift. Magic number now 2. Snell may have to go 9 innings tonight. Maybe 7 innings and turn it over to Kershaw and Sasaki.

Time to find out if Roki is going to be a late inning weapon

So far, so good. Let’s see if he can finish this one off.

Roki looked great! Their pen needs this.

I think he may be done. Probably not going to mess around and let him go with shorter rest to see how he reacts.

I think you’re right, unfortunately. Now the regular pen turds can yield the vic to the D-bags.

And with that double, Roki just made the post season roster with only 13 pitches.

This is amazing, every time the BP comes in, a bunch of runs get on the board. Dodgers just need to use 2 starters every game

Or we need to score 10 runs a game.

This is great for the D'Backs, given the Reds and Mets losses.
Might have 3 NL West teams in the postseason after all.

Not sure I understand your point. So your rooting for the D-Bags to get into the post season so they can eliminate us?

Breaking news:
Dodgers to sign Julio Urias, Trevor Bauer, and Dan Serafini.
(Serafini contingent upon the Dodgers being able to successfully break him out of prison).

Not rooting for it, merely an observation.

Well, we’re losing this game. Apparently we can’t hit off their BP, and outside Roki’s stellar inning, they can feast on ours.
