So it sucks, yes, but why would they do it otherwise? It gets it into stores and in breaks and that is what they want. The majority of people who buy from drops only buy to flip to stores and breakers. From a business standpoint it makes the most sense to just do it themselves.

I wish they would put the artist name on the sketch cards. How do you even look up who created these? This one is beautiful:

Dang… that is a great sketch. Not sure it’s worth $5,000 Euro unless the euro collapses.

I already felt like the authentic actor auto checklist could make these boxes compete with the desirability of the first year of this product, and now the additional unannounced autos & baseball uniform short prints have me extra excited about this stuff. Can’t wait to open a few and will probably load up on some more to hold during this influx of supply the next couple weeks

Tom Hanks auto as Woody is about as cool as it gets in my opinion!

Target.com dropping blaster boxes. Got 2 but $84 shipped feels steep. Might cancel, TBD

I just came here to post exactly this. That's some exceptional work, right there. Love to see it. Kudos to whoever finally sorted out the licensing approval mess to get stuff like this done.

Yup!

He's actually going to be at the Philly Non-Sports Card Show next month! https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1617890

Buddy of mine opened a mega. Aside from the expected (hitting nothing, 1 numbered)
He said the quality is absolutely atrocious.

The Tom Hanks autograph /25 is up to $1,525. Some of these autographs are going to be hard to find for a reasonable price. I haven't seen John Goodman or Billy Crystal yet. There is a pic of an inscribed Tim Allen /10 floating around.

Who is going to be the biggest? Tom Hanks? He is my pick between his popularity as an actor as well as the character Woody.

I'd say either him or Will Smith but give the nod to Hanks since he's live. In a way, I'm glad these boxes cost what they do otherwise I'd probably have to get a second mortgage.

It does seem like a solid release with the additional auto signers that are popping up and the baseball variants are cool. If they keep floating the baseball stuff from set to set, I could see people chasing them for a long time.

I just saw it. Honestly not a bad starting point for a price for the seller. At least they didn't start it at $50,000 or something stupid. It already has 9 offers on it. There is a regular unnumbered refractor of his just listed too. Its over $500 already. They spelled his name wrong though. Billi

I haven't seen Jodi Benson yet either. She will be a big one.

EDIT - 2 Interesting observations I'll just add here instead of making a new post:

1) The differences that breakers get for spots is incredible. I think it shows more on a release like this as opposed to a standard sports release that is available everywhere. After a full day of tracking breaks I have seen breakers get barely over $7,000 for a case and I have also seen breakers get close to $14,000 for a case. That is wild. I never would have guessed there would be such a spread. The "screamers" that are hard to listen to are big draws. The other is girls. Even if the girl isn't mega hot, they seem to get much better returns. I just thought it was crazy that some people are getting so little for breaks while others are getting so much.

2) The OG Disney characters will never be beat. When an autograph releases in Star Wars, it does not seem to compare to the same autograph releasing with an OG Disney Character. A great example of this is Jim Cummings. His autograph in Star Wars releases can be had for $20. But he has a Winnie The Pooh autograph currently over $400. That too is wild. Obviously we expect differences but that is a big gap. But I guess if history has shown us anything, is that Disney fans will drop money on things and not bat an eye about it. I mentioned it above about Disney cruises, they are insane. My family would not have a problem affording it, but I cannot justify it at those levels anymore. Not when other options are available. The power of a brand.

When it comes to people that signed a lot, the value is in the character. For Jim Cummings, who is more popular on a global scale? Winne the Pooh or Hondo Ohnaka?

How many Hondo signed cards are there VS the Pooh?

Its like Bill Farmer signed Goofy VS Bill Framer signed Male Ant #3 from Bug's Life.

Same thing with Tom Kenny - his SW autos are a pittance compared to what his SpongeBob autos will be going for.

Most of the signers will have 500 autos in the product. Base Jim Cummings will not hold these prices. Only issue being everyone is scared to open as box prices are insane for what comes out of the avg box

I bought two autos so far Naomi Scott for $250 and Luke Evan for $175. Im sure both will end up being overpays

Forget the EQL.....Topps/Fanatics should make it so that you have to know who the characters are in order to bust any of this (especially breakers). Actually do this across all product, WWE, Sports, etc. It's facepalm after facepalm hearing "I dont know who this is" or "Elizabeth Swann? Not sure what movie she is from". It's not that hard for any person breaking any product to educate themselves so they don't look like complete imbeciles on video. As I said it's across all types of cards as I remember watching an NFL break and a massive Joe Burrow card was hit and guy had no clue who he was then hit a Barry Sanders and again nada.
I can't be the only one who watches breaks and wonders if these people have been living under rocks for decades.....right?

Anyways rant over.

Yeah, it's super cringy. But these are the same breakers who have to pretend to be excited when they open VeeFriends. It's not at all about knowing or remotely caring about what they're opening, it's about easy $$$.

I don't see how this is sustainable or there are many people with considerably more disposable income then me. I cant be dropping $500 for a box with little return or resale value to break even. I cant be dropping $4k on an actor auto. I feel that is not fiscally responsible.

I've been asking myself this same question since 2020 and line just goes up. I don't get it myself but I'm just sitting on the sidelines and collecting what I can for what I think are reasonable prices.
