Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi and Metallica are three of the largest rock acts around and continue to sell out stadiums, world-wide. And I would imagine that the NFL players have heard of these groups (and their music) a time or two. All these groups mentioned have iconic songs. Enter the Sandman, Livin' on a Prayer, Best of You, etc...

But I'll play along.

The previous 7 SB Halftime shows produced by Jay-Z/Roc Nation:

LX- Bad Bunny
LIX- Kendrick Lamar
LVIII- Usher
LVII- Rihanna
LVI- Dr. Dre-Snoop Dogg-Eminem-Mary J. Blige-Kendrick Lamar
LV- The Weeknd
LIV- Shakira/Jennifer Lopez

Look, I get it. I'm just saying, it shouldn't kill Jay-Z's production company/the NFL to help secure a good ol' Rock n' Roll act once in a while to freshen things up a bit.

I'd be fine with something Rock-based. Just not Bon Jovi. Please no.

Most Latinos don't actually use that, or care for it. So no need.

Which is why the NFL picked who they picked. It's not about entertaining NFL fans, they will watch the SB either way. It's about trying to get more fans/viewers, those that wouldn't watch in the first place.

Not sure what's happening. I was just saying why I don't think the Bad Bunny thing is a crazy idea.

Looking at the list of Super Bowl performers, I'm actually shocked by the lack of country artists. Last one was Shania Twain in 2003.

I'm sure we'll see the quadruple power grouping of Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Teddy Swims and Luke Combs headline the halftime show at some point

So I have experience in this field an have access to the data, but you can also get it from Nielsen, Billboard, & the NFL.

The metrics data suggests that 2020-2021 numbers were an outlier likely due to influences by the pandemic (e.g. no in-person crowds, disengagement, etc.) After that there was a strong resurgence in the numbers around the time RocNation took over and viewership increased by about 25 million from 2021 to 2024.

| Year | Artist | Viewers (M) | YoY Change |

| 2017 | Lady Gaga | 117.50 | +1.7% |
| 2018 | Justin Timberlake | 106.60 | -9.3% |
| 2019 | Maroon 5/Travis Scott/Big Boi | 99.04 | -7.1% |
| 2020 | Shakira/J.Lo | 104.10 | +5.1% |

It was a strange choice for the NFL given their current delicate relationship with the U.S. government and how they need the government's approval for their semi-merger with ESPN. But ultimately it will be like every other Super Bowl halftime show.... the usual people complain, the usual people watch, something happens which people talk about the next day, and life goes on.....

I think they try to make the halftime show exciting for people who typically wouldn’t watch the game. Trying to spur more viewers. Don’t like football? Well, catch Bad Bunny at least!

The largest demographic for the NFL is 35-54. 32% say it is their TOP interest.

55+ is next at 31%. Followed by 18-34 at 27%

They are trying to appeal to the 18-34 crowd to grow the fanbase.

I like Bad Bunny, but wouldn’t have picked him. Also understand why they did.

He is nearly impossible to understand and I’m nearly fluent in Spanish. Again, I like him but think it will be unpopular for many.

Last I saw she was having a mental breakdown and hanging on the hood of a car she bought that her ex was trying to ride out with.

So that’s a yes for me. I’d watch that halftime show.

Bon Jovi works because they have enough songs that everyone on the planet knows. My 10 year old and 14 year old would still know them. Even if the songs aren’t good. Not saying they are

That’s the problem with these super modern acts. 50% can’t name a single song. Let alone multiple

Children can recognize Living on Prayer. Could be the Kids Bop version

As mentioned above a 5 year old night recognize Enter Sandman from watching College Football even if they don’t know who Metallica is

I didn’t recognize a simple Weekend song from a few years ago

Foo Fighters do suck. So I’m with you there

My vote is for BeatleManiaMania which is not a tribute to the Beatles, but rather a tribute to the Beatles tribute band, Beatlemania.
Where do I send it?

If they couldn’t even bring any old Cash Money or No Limit artists to Louisiana and instead chose a rapper from California then yeah no chance.

RocNation led by Jaz-Z has the contract to do the halftime shows. They have zero interest in doing country acts. They do hip-hop & R&B artists so those will be the SB acts you get.

I don't mind Bad Bunny as long as he does not try to go political during the halftime show like many are guessing he's going to try to make some kind of political statement.

Saw Metallica perform, coincidently, at Levi's Stadium recently -- they're past their prime, though.

Dave Grohl seemed to be involved in everything back in the day -- award shows, commercials, etc. I'm actually surprised he hasn't found a way to perform in the Super Bowl yet, at least as a supporting act.

Bon Jovi? The 60-year-old women demo is underserved, for sure.
