Little Champ Ticket up on eBay for 250k

I think this market, just like stocks, has room to run. My prediction is we surpass Covid prices, and we already have in some areas. It's just the logical progression. But at some point the prices will be in a bubble again, of course.

Part of my wants to add one of these to the collection. Not counting 1/1s, if my entire football collection was just what I consider the top 2 Brady cards and the top 2 Mahomes cards made, what else would I need?

Especially if that championship ticket isn’t selling at $250k obo, maybe no one has even offered $200k

Stocks room to run? S and p is up close to 100 percent past 5 years, while card prices have come way down from covid highs

Now might even be some of the cheapest over the last 5 years.

Maybe some increases here and there but tons haven’t really had any movement

Impact PSA 9 has been a around $200 for a very long time, that’s just one, but tons of others like that

It's a lot of money to put into a single football card. But then, everything is proportional isn't it.

Like I just said above, I think this card market is going to run up further, surpassing Covid bubble numbers. Kind of the nature of market cycles, it's not like there's less money floating around now. I have no idea what is a fair market or a snipe in value for a Championship ticket. Maybe Davey can rattle off past sales, but I'd bet on the price going up from here until we hit a peak.

I do think it's all tied together, not exactly a hot take. The card markets are a bit asymmetric, but when the SP500 dropped to ~2500 then ran up to almost 5000 during the Covid boom, cards followed that and did more. Became viewed more as an asset than ever before. And now we're over 6.6k and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. So when Jerome and the FED just tipped that we're going into QE again, and we're cutting rates obviously to ~3% maybe lower based on the new FED chair/committee. Well then, it's not really a surprise cards have been on fire, gold is up 60% YTD, SLV is up 75%. It's just another asset now, an alternative asset that's more volatile but it is one.

I'm not comfortable allotting more than a certain % of my total portfolio, if you will, to cards. It's PC for me, but I also view it as an investment as well. I put 5.3k into an SpX auto and flipped it for 9.5k, after eBay abused me - 8.45k total. I don't think I could bring myself to spend more than 10k or 15k max on a single card, but my current collection must be around ~15-20k in total conservatively. I hear you on consolidating though, I've felt that, so maybe if you have the means putting it into 4-5 total cards is the move.

I was listening to a podcast this week and cardladder does a market share on popular players markets where they look at a number of popular cards of that player. Year over year, Bradys market is up 34%! That is a pretty big number for a retired player. I would bet that if one looked at just rookies, the % would be even higher!

2000 Contenders Rookie Ticket Tom Brady - Authentic Grade. These are PSA only sales from their APR/Pop report:

July 4th, 2023 - 9.2k
Sep. 24th, 2023 - 9.1k
Oct. 2nd, 2023 - 8.988k

After Sep. 24th 2022, not a single authentic sold for more than 13k. Only one did on March 29th, 2023. The average price range was 10-11k from late 2022 until late April 2025. Then the most recent PSA sale was 17.7k on August 9th 2025.

We just saw two trimmed/altered cards go for 11.6k (with a terrible auto) and 17.4k on Fanatics. Probstein probably screwed his cosign client out of a few grand too, terrible lighting photo, probably goes for 14-15k minimum at an auction house. I hope that counts as a rookie card since you're trying to move the goal posts to win an argument.

You just stated that in the past 5 years we're at the cheapest point now. The market has been on fire lately and everything has gone up. I bolded parts here to make it very easy to read. The Pokemon market (it's relevant) are at or beyond covid highs on many cards already, it could be a leading indicator. You can look at the graphs which on PSA APR for many cards such as 2000 Bowman Chrome Brady, and it looks like an exponential curve upward.


In late 2022, early 2023 the card market crashed down from a bubble. Prices from 2023-2025 were lower than they are today across the board. That would be 60% of the 5 year span you stated. So yes, prices were higher during a covid bubble than currently, thanks for letting us know.

You can get a decent copy of a RC Press Pass auto or a RC Autographics in that range. Unless you're only looking for pro uniform autos.

I’m open to those! Those are the ones I was looking at on eBay but they’re all over 4k and sellers won’t work with me. I’ll have to be patient.

This is on my watchlist. It ends in 4 hours ish. National Treasures, 1st year Bucs SB year. Good auto, bit thin. But has the inscription for SB champs. I have no idea what this ends at, but I'm not going to bid on it probably.

It is going for rather cheap for what I'd expect. On card auto /5 NT card. If that ends sub 3k I'd consider it a pretty good price. 3.5-4k range still pretty good I'd bet. I'm not sure on the prices of this card/set/year, but again NT /5 on card with an inscription, pack issued as well if that matters to you.

I'm holding off on it, all yours if you want it.
