It's his Heritage Action, card number 17. Technically his first MLB licensed card in a MLB uniform (2017 Mega doesn't count, although that is a great one since it's first MLB Licensed pack pulled card)

Surprised Chrome Home Field Advantage cards haven't popped off.

Very very rare, and listings often confuse regular Topps vs Chrome.

Probably nobody (except TBP) wants this conversation to go on, but then what about cards like Gypsy Queen?
He did already play in Spring Training, but he hadn't played in regular season game yet when that product came out.

I know this RC debate was a thing in the past, but I forgot how it went, so I'm kind of going back to it, asking questions and trying to figure out what the argument was.

In addition to rookie cards, I have been targeting cards from unique sets where he is in his Dodgers jersey like the 50/50 product and the Murakami set. The Murakami cards look really nice and there are never a ton on the market. Can’t go wrong with most of his stuff though it seems!

So much easier back in the days pre parallels/inserts and Bowman prospect cards. Number of participants in the "hobby" has grown quite a bit so there's "a card" for everyone at each budget level. Sure there's "value" for numbered 2018 issues but for traditionalist (which is a different argument) there is one "true" RC when traditional criteria are applied.

To be honest I kind of like the way Topps defines what a RC card is...anything with a shield on it, or any card that comes out during their RC year (parallel, numbered card, inserts, etc.) All other cards before the MLB debut is a prospect card. Any card after the RC year is a veteran card.

KANG and Curry NBA Topps Rcs aren’t from games and those people go nuts for them (even though they were nothing special and still aren’t, but have ballooned).

Can’t recall if Trout update is photoshopped or from a game. I don’t personally put too much value in if the photo is from a playing game

its from his Debut on July 8th, 2011.

i wonder what Topps does with all those cashed in Topps Chrome MVP Buyback cards.

Yes they stamp some for the next years packs and even have them sign some but that doesnt nearly cover the thousands of base and refractors that are redeemed.
