Meltzer obviously has no sourcing to ESPN, I'm confident on that given he barely has any sourcing within Pro Wrestling, but the number makes complete sense. A lot of people (like myself) didn't have to pay for the ESPN package because it comes with a service (in my case Fubo) that I already purchase. I wonder when you factor it in like that how many people have access to ESPN vs how many did the $30 subscription.

Also include the people who used VPN to watch it via Netflix, or used one of the "streaming" sites to watch it.

Not sure how WWE and ESPN thought that their customer base after paying $20 a month for WWE Network for a few years, then getting Peacock for a few years cheaper than that, would readily adopt $30 a month now to get PPV. Too many vehicles now to get results and highlights to really go backwards in pricing.

ESPN are losing HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars on WWE deal after tanking viewership.

This is just the state of streaming in general. They think it's "time to collect" after providing years and years of content that was mainly advertised as being cheaper than cable.

Cable is my area is around $60/month... so why would I spend an additional $30 on ESPN just to use it once a month? Netflix is putting out less quality content than they have in the past (my opinion) but charging more each year. Disney+ is burning money for Disney and will merge with Hulu soon. HBO Max is being propped up by Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones spinoffs.

Streaming is just going downhill and all of the big studios are massively overrating their content.

there are probably some like me too where I could just watch the WWE Youtube clips for free and pretty much get what was going on during the show. Heck with being on the West Coast most of the clips are already online before RAW or Smackdown start at 8pm. If someone is in that situation why would paying for it even be considered?

Loved the time Pax got last night on NXT. I think that is the very first time I have actually ever heard her cut a promo where she was speaking in her own voice and not the voice/tone of her gimmick. With how much time they gave her, and how they built her up during the match to show she can handle her own against Fatal Influence, I am really hoping she has a chance to win the championship on Saturday. But I have this funny feeling that we are going to see Izzi turn on her.

Went to a Holiday show last year in Baltimore. It was fantastic. Punk, Rollins, LA Knight, Bron Breaker, Liv Morgan, Rey & Dom, Gunther and a few others wrestled. Not much talking and mostly wrestling for about 2.5 hours. Much more exciting than Raw or Smackdown.

So Cargill gets a cut over her eye and turns full blown heel ? Honestly I feel it's time to get the belt off Tiffy. She has really gotten stale and boring. Interesting to see who they put against Cargill after she wins the title.

Also a personal rant but does anybody get cheap Cross/Scarlet ripoff from Black/Vega? It's basically the same bit with the dancing from Vega around Black.

It looks like you'll get your wish because they can't have Tiffy beat her convincingly as a face and then do it again as a heel. Not only that, on X, they're basically promoting the idea that Stratton is hurt, but will go through with the match at SNME for the title. So, it looks pretty clear she's got some off time coming up.

Gotta hand it to JC Mateo for having the worst presence of perhaps any Wrestler I've seen. I'm not quite sure what it is, but there's literally nothing there, and in a group with Tala and Loa, that's saying a lot.

The more I see the segment of Drew McIntyre-Cody Rhodes, the more I feel that seeds are being planted for Cody's heel turn, not necessarily soon, but might not be too far away either, especially if my guess about Punk going after Cody's title comes to fruition.

Watch them have Cody be the one who attacked Jacob. Cody knows he can beat Drew he's proven it but he was worried he he would be enough to beat Jacob so he took him out before he had the chance to face him.

NXT seriously needs to promote their top 2-3 talents, cut 1/3 of what's left and groom some new talent because it's gotten really bad really quick.

They need to promote those that are ready; which is like 7 or 8 that they're currently featuring.

There is absolutely no reason for Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Jordynne Grace, Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, Ethan Page, Jacy Jayne, or Lash Legend to still be on the roster. Promote them already.

Do what with them? There is only so much TV time to go around. You can't promote everyone and let them sit in catering. Probably better they stay on NXT and get TV time then not get used in the main roster.

There are a lot of useless filler guys/girls on the main roster who take up tv time that you could replace.

The Hardys losing to Dark State was terrible. I get it was no DQ and basically 4 on 2 at times, but no team on NXT should beat the Hardys even at their age. If they needed Dark State to get the Titles back they should have added Hank & Tank and had one of them take the pin. Also interesting that NXT can hold TNA's titles for months at a time but the biggest stars in TNA can't hold the NXT tag titles for a month or more?

Blake Monroe is terrible. Ive never been impressed with her no matter where she was.

Paxley winning the Womens Title I assume will lead to her feuding with Izzy at some point? Which will be terrible, because Izzy is just awful.

Not true. A good creative team can accommodate many more wrestlers than what they currently have.

Pax with the win! As you guys have seen in my posts, I have been high on Pax. Was happy to see her get the chance and take the title. I agree that Izzy turning on her is just a matter of time.

So WWE released 3 separate teasers of some debuting/returning superstars. All you saw were their feet walking. All three were basically the same; feet walking. The first looks like Gunther's gait, the second looks like Jericho's gait, the third gait I'm not sure about.

Seems weird to do the same teaser for 3 different people, so either it's one of two things. It's the same person to throw everyone off the scent they made them look like different people, or it is three different people and it's a new group.

Anything other than those two make no sense from a creative standpoint.

Really looking forward to Saturday Night's Main Event. So far most of these SNME cards have felt like filler with nothing important happening but for this card we're guaranteed at least 1 new champion with the Jey/Punk match and I wouldn't be surprised if Jade beats Tiffy.
