World Series record for most IBB's for 1 player is 7 (Pujols, Bonds, and....Bernie Williams?!).
I'm smashing the over that Ohtani breaks the record....very possibly tonight.

edit: OK, Bernie had 7 IBB's in *32* WS games. Bonds has the record for most IBB's in a single World Series with 7.

I'd be down for a limit on the number of times you can walk a player. I agree with the above that you should only be able to do it a few times a game. Walking a player every time they step up is cowardly and an injustice to all fans who tune in to watch the best athlete in the game.

It also didnt matter. Blue Jays still lost.

I agree with what you are saying. Fans want to see the best baseball players hit and not be walked. But even if there was a rule to limit IBB, they would just pitch around Ohtani and not throw him anything good to hit resulting in a walk, so I don't know how you would police this out of the game.

That's a good point. They could also just hit him to get around it.

In the old days a guy gets that comfy at the plate hitting everything, you drill him in the ribs.
That'll get him to back the F off and start wondering where the next one is going.

I think it was early this season he got drilled in the hip by a Padres pitcher, but he motioned for the guys in the dugout to stay in there and not come out and charge the mound. He's truly a 1/1 as far as class and respect for the game.

Sales on the 18 TC pink #150 PSA 10 have been all over the place since his NLCS game 4, bouncing all over from $1.1k to $3.7k and everything in between. Cardladder seems to have frozen their estimate for the card at $1.1k because they don't know what to make of the action. Lol

Far fetched idea, but if an IBB cap was imposed, subsequent walks of any kind or HBP could award the batter 2 bases.

That's a pretty strong incentive to actually pitch to him.
