I bet he's hoping for a lockout and lost season in 2027. Then the Dodgers (or any other high-spending team) can't win the WS.

You are really grasping at straws to try and discount the Dodgers. As desperate as you grasp, it won't change the fact the Dodgers are repeat WS champions.

I'm sure Blue Jays fans are comforted by the fact they outscored the Dodgers in the series. LOL
Fact is the Blue Jays had 2 shots to win 1 game in front of their home crowd and CHOKED hardcore.
Dude, I picked the Dodgers to win the series -- I am not a bitter Blue Jays fan.

A 7-game series is considered a small sample in baseball statistics. A bad team can beat a good team 4 out of 7 times. A bad team will almost never outplay a good team in a full 162-game season, which is why it's very rare for playoff teams to have a negative run differential in the regular season.

Just seeing this post now.

Rats: you are giving the Pirates front office too much credit.

The Blue Jays weren't even supposed to be there. The Red Sox were. Most had the Red Sox running away with the East, but they shat the bed, thinking that was a better move.

Jays fans aren't bitter. That team made Toronto and everyone that is a fan very proud for even making it that far. A World Series win would have been unbelievable.

Just know that while the Jays were playing the Dodgers in one of the greatest World Series ever, the Red Sox were washing their bed sheets.

Lol who had the Red Sox running away with the AL East??? Literally none of the Bosox fans I know had them winning the ALE, and most barely had us as making the playoffs. My pre-season hopes were that they would be able to snag one of the WC spots.

Hunter Zehner on the Boston Red Sox Fenway Faithful Facebook group.

Here’s my bold predictions for AL East Standings on 2025 MLB Season.
1. Boston Red Sox - z (96-66)
2. Baltimore Orioles - x (95-67)
3. New York Yankees (90-72)
4. Toronto Blue Jays (74-88)
5. Tampa Bay Rays (70-92)
So guys, I’m going to be happy to see Red Sox will win AL East over Orioles and Yuck Fankees this year! And, Yankees’ downfall continues and tough decisions too, then they will miss the playoffs this year and Red Sox are gonna win our future 10th World Series champs!
Let’s get ready for some baseball in 4 days! Go Red Sox!!

A lot of publications had the Red Sox winning the east. Instead, they soiled their beds. Go on all you want trying to evict people living in your head rent-free, but let's all stand here and realize that Boston couldn't hang with the big teams.

Also, Mookie Betts.

Obviously I knew this year they weren't good enough to win it all. When Roman Anthony went down, I knew their shot was gone. No one is living rent free in my head, except Ohtani but he can live there as long as he wants. Lol

I just checked with a magician I know, and it turns out the Blue Jays would've won if only this guy had thrown back the actual Rojas ball.

I never said I'd quit watching playoff games because of the Strauss helmet ad. I said they were an eyesore and cheapening the sport and its image. I said that if MLB continued to increase the number of ads in games that I'd stop watching at some point.

I was never against the bigger bases. I said they'd make it easier to steal bases, which they did.

I don't think they will do it this year ... but I will defer any and all reactions to 2037.

Now, when you couple your thought that the Red Sox sucked with the idea that no one was picking Toronto to do anything this year, you'll understand why people in Toronto aren't as upset as you're claiming. The Jays did an excellent job and the hope is that they improve the team in the offseason.

Hopefully Walmart does the same with the Red Sox. We're all doubting it, but have hope.

Blue Jays had the 5th highest payroll and the best record in the AL. They surprised people but this was always well within their capabilities.

We're talking pre-season predictions. Toronto was nowhere near what actually happened.

I still don’t know what Strauss is. Will probably be the same next October.

Strauss is a German company that makes work clothing.

I think the Athletic ranked them 19th in the preseason.....which brings into question the quality of the Athletic's writers more than anything. Lol

Does this now transition into the 2026 thread? They can add 130M of payroll just to match last year.

Count me as a doubter for a three-peat. I was skeptical last offseason that they could run it back, but I could definitely see it happening with all that talent and experience. Three in a row is practically impossible in this day and age -- I'd bet big that it won't happen. The offense and bullpen are already showing cracks, and the starting pitching is great only when healthy -- which it typically isn't.

I reserve the ability to change my position if the Dodgers somehow steal Paul Skenes from the Pirates, though.

Lets say they add Tucker a Diaz or Suarez from SD, and the latest imports from Japan. They can easily have a better lineup and a better bullpen.

The Dodgers should at least try for it -- sign everyone they can. The current system allows for it.

They sign Tucker, they sign that big Japanese bat (forget his name), and buy/trade for 2-3 solid bullpen arms...boom, their weaknesses are addressed. Yes, an aging Mookie and Freeman may be a concern, but hell, if they fall of the cliff, they can buy a couple more bats too. Not saying they will 3-peat, but they got as good a chance as any other team in history that's had a chance to 3-peat.
