the increase in shipping (average ebay member charging $5-7 on single cards, paired with the crypto dip and EBAY has gone to completely crap

Sold nothing last week, so far approaching midweek and ZERO offers on anything.

The duration of the USPS "Holiday season" is simply laughable.

We can't have nice things anymore, I guess.

My sales are even and have caught up with September. If the increases keep I will surpass September.

Fresh inventory is starting to fileter its way in to my store. Here's an illustration of how powerful new inventory is;

Of the 92 new items listed in the last six days, 20 have sent offers out. Of my other 928 items, 54 have sent offers out.

Note: Those 92 items count the 20 I just listed, so really I should only count 72 new items.

A lot more people all selling off EBay to avoid EBay fees.

Roughly half my sales this year have been through FB Groups....those are cards I would previously have listed on EBay.

I tried setting up a facebook over the summer. I started posting sports stuff and also cards for sale, and within 2 days I was blocked out of my account. It took me over a week to get back in and by that point I was done with facebook.

You use vintage groups? I admin the biggest one there is on Facebook. Hit me with a PM. It’s a GREAT page to buy and sell on.

The last time I had a four week run with as few dollars sold as the one that ended yesterday was the week ending December 27, 2022. In terms of packages the last time I sold this few over any four week period was June, 2022.

It seems to be mixed, a few of the larger groups I am in the cards go for more than what they go for on eBay which is good for the seller but not for the buyer.

October sales down 58% vs Septemeber and 25% vs last year. This is three consecutive years that my October sales have fallen. I sold a paltry 4.2% of my average daily listed inventory, a record low by nearly half.

I'm not too concerned about slow October sales because so much of my attention is focused elsewhere. I would be concerned if sales stay slow through Novemeber, but things started to perk up at the end of the month. Still, I'm starting from such a low baseline that I will really need to see a huge increase.

My October sales ($) were down 19% vs. September. Volume sold was down 7%. I'm not too concerned because eBay Live had a solid week of terrible glitches that basically shut down multiple streams I had planned. Those events would have made my numbers almost identical to Sept.

October 2025 was up 189% over October 2024. Not a good comparison since I am almost exclusively live selling now. However, October was my 2nd best month of 2024.

This is probably mentioned elsewhere on here (well let me know so I can move it) but according to James Beckett and Patrick Ryan on a podcast that shill bidding is not only happening quite regularly on high end stuff (and probably everything else) but it SHOULD happen

Watchers are watchers.

Interested buyers are watchers plus shoppers who have clicked on an item twice in a time period. I'm not sure what that time period is.

Once you've sent a Seller Initiated Offer to a buyer they are no longer considered interested no matter how many times they click on that item, whether they are watching or not.

There's plenty of that on eBay too. It baffels my mind how somebody can take in $10 and put $8 of that toward shipping when there is a 74¢ option available.

Anything over $20 is $5.65 for USPS G/A . I shipped a card from VA to CA for $5.15 today 1-4 Ounces.

1-4 Ounces to PA was $4.54.

If people are charging $7 plus IDK what to say except you are seeing the price before purchase and accepting that so you have no reason to complain. Now if the seller is charging a price after the purchase that was not disclosed that is totally wrong and you should ask to cancel.

Interesting. Thanks for the explanation. Always wondered why I had more Interested Buyers than Watchers on certain items.

At the counter it is $8+ to ship cross country right now.
