Congrats to Judge. Well deserved! Could've gone either way.

That's one way to make up something nobody said for sure!

Agreed. Not everybody got to sit out in RF working on their tan all season.

You're the worst kind of person, aren't you? Front runner and if the roles were reversed you would've been crying to the high heavens? I get that right?

No tizzy, well deserved win for Judge. Would've been the same if Cal had won.

Going to be really interesting to see what type of season Cal has next season.

My question is which one would be most likely to test positive for Ped’s.

Somehow people still find a way to discount how amazing Judge's year was. To put into perspective the gulf that was still there between Judge and Cal despite Cal having an undeniably great season, the difference between Judge's and Cal's OPS was the same as the difference between Cal's and Addison Barger's.

Not as good as this year is the easy answer.

Fat boy in Seattle has to be happy it was this close
Thanks for playing, Big Dumper. We'll see if this catcher can contend for the ROY again in his career. Odds are though, probably not. So happy to see the voters get it right. Judge definitely deserved it

Positional Adjustment for WAR
Catcher +12.5 runs Shortstop +7.5 runs Centerfield +2.5 runs Right & Leftfield -7.5 runs 1st Base -12.5 runs Foul tips blasted off the face mask. Foul tip stingers on the legs. Groveling around on the dirt all game long. Managing all the pitchers and what they're throwing. All the gear to constantly strap on/off. The constant mental focus required. The pre-game preparation and study for all the opposing hitters. Far and away the most important non-pitching position on the field. And like someone already said - working on their tan out in the outfield. Historical numbers we may never ever see again in the history of MLB for a catcher. Just hope voters honestly took into consideration all of this. Outstanding season by both. |

Interesting to see what writers voted for who. It looks like the Texas writers in AL West cities were the difference maker for Judge.

I feel MLB needs to change who votes for the MLB awards.....I believe letting writers choose has run it's course, imo. So many have their own agenda....HOF voting as well.
