It is just a Red parallel basically. They just decided to call it "Press Proof".

Personally, that red clashes withe the blue.

Other players have it.

Personally, I think that Red Aspirations is sharp. Gem Mint too.

honestly for $1k-1.5k you aren't going to get much value in the mahomes market right now. You really have to do a lot of research to find deals since there really aren't many. I just bought this card for $1850 a few weeks back and have been searching almost everyday for quality mahomes cards. It takes more than asking people which card to buy.

I was looking at aqua. I would do a 9 but may have to save a bit more. They have been selling around 2k but everywhere they are priced at 3k

There is no paper Donruss red parallel numbered to /99. I think your are referencing the Optic red /99. Donruss paper only has the red press proof (non serial numbered)

great card for the hardcore Mahomes PC collector (like me), but not sure that is the card I would drop $3K on. the fact that it isn't pack-pulled and requires a "story" to educate the buyer on its origin takes away from its marketability (IMO). i would lean elsewhere for that kind of coin

if value appreciation is your key objective (over appeal), then it is optic holo for sure at this price point. red/yellow will always have a special place in the heart of PC collectors, given the color match

You might want to look at the Select Silver #103 as well at this price range, or potentially a PSA 9 Select Field Level Silver. A bit more nuanced, but the 2017 Phoenix Color Burst is a cool looking card. Others have already pointed out the Donruss Elite options, which are great looking cards that are undervalued...

the hobby kind of hates elite and die cuts - but a numbered mahomes rc out of less than 100 for $1,500 isn't shabby - also your link posted above was a cooper kupp card

What products would have live Mahomes rookie autos in them? Or have a lot of those autos been found? Leaving a lot of the sealed stuff to only contain redemptions

I was wondering what everyone thought is on his non rc autos. They still very high for even non licensed stuff like leaf and wild card. Is anyone concerned that he will start or get forced to sign a ton for fanatics sets going forward and water down market? I wonder the same thing with brady even more since he is now tied directly to hobby with those card shops.

I think this reason is why rookie stuff is important. It’s distinct from an auto from any other year.

Maybe the non rookie year autos with his early signature will be sought after since he changed how he signs stuff
