OP had nothing to do with or involve CC but the first thought wasn't congratulations. The "team" she plays on is still in the playoffs, but somehow you thought the season was over? So either someone's lying to make a point or is the same person saying the Fever could not compete without her?

And I agree that women should be the first to support and consume. But they aren't centuries of rooted, born and raised and consumed by sports daily type of people...for a multitude of reasons. It's the dads bringing their daughters to the games. So it may never take off, who knows. But if there's an abandonment simply cause one player is absent, that was never going to last anyways. And any accomplishments she will make could just as equally be dismissed because of how "bad" the competition is.
