I'm not sure why he was banned? I get that his posts were insufferable, and he was a little too obsessed with this card, but there are far more annoying people around here. He expressed some frustration with his being trolled, but ok, so what? The worst thing he wrote was "salty sea bags" but he didn't direct it at anyone specific and frankly, people were being a little salty. Unless there was some deleted post we missed, he was discovered to be a PBM, or there was some scam happening, banning seems a tad harsh.

I don't know Jamessingh1992, but if he's reading this, cool card. Next time, try being a little less, um, enthusiastic.

We have no idea what went on behind closed doors. Bans are more often for private messages with moderators than offensive public posts. And given his repeated threats to contact mods, I wouldn't be surprised if those conversations didn't go well.

He might not be banned banned. Might have just been suspended for a bit but it'll still say banned.

The “just bait you” is perhaps a passive-aggressive minor threat / maybe admission of true intent all the way through. ?

My question about this card remains the same. I fail to see how a card produced in a standalone baseball card machine couldn’t just have more copies printed, complete with hacked “timestamp”. Seems so obvious it becomes a question about each copy, particularly when one is being pumped this hard. Sure, Konami “stopped” the machines. Sounds simple in the theoretical internet text. The Real World is different.

What I did like about this thread was new news on a 2nd round of these hybrid baseball card arcade games (also existed in 2012 & 13 in Japan). I have always thought these would be pretty enjoyable if one were set up in an American LCS, with an all-MLB checklist. Are you listening Fanatics? It’s me, base.

The OP was here for roughly 5 months. In that time, he constantly contacted moderators about various things, openly baited people with the intent to get them banned, trolled people, discussed his mental illness publicly, accused everyone of trolling him, showed some disjointed thought patterns/reasoning, and only posted (albeit incessantly) in two threads.

Maybe he was “harmless,” but I wouldn’t want him drinking in my bar.

During the winter time, every now and then we would have a homeless man sneak onto our patio and then inside the building to bum change from our patrons. I sometimes just buy those types of peeps (spare changers) a drink, just one. They sometimes have interesting local insights.

Where I used to drink in the 90s, they would occasionally (once every few years) “86” people who would clearly engage in 3D trolling, a behavior that predates the Internet. They would be kicked out for their own protection, though they would fail to understand that. The bar would do it to head off the inevitable fight+police call+knock on problems best avoided.

You can't really say that without knowing the content of the conversations. There are certainly things you can say to a mod that are banworthy, more than just annoying.

Maybe, but conjecture. Maybe he was banned for something he said in a DM to a mod, but I don’t think bans are more often for private conversations with mods. I think the most common ban comes from PBM and 2nd egregious posts. But I could be wrong. Would be the first tmie.

Of course it's conjecture. That was the whole discussion. Unless a mod comes out and says, or there was some blatantly offensive post we can point to that required a banning, we are always left to speculate what the reason was. I only offered the PM thing as a possible reason when you questioned that he hadn't done anything banworthy. My point is that we have no idea if he did something banworthy, so you can't come to the conlcusion you did.
