Blue chip players in the hobby?

Who in your opinion are the blue chip players to collect in the hobby for football?

What are their better cards? Rookies? Autos? Both?

He’s like McDavid, even when he doesn’t win a championship people still say he’s best in the league and they just move the goal post of a title to the next year therefore always maintaining value.

Not cheap but I’d start with a Silver Prizm RC as a better card that is still attainable. RPA’s etc are prob out of reach for most now

You say "collect", so not necessarily for investment I assume. Then collect who you personally like that's not totally off the radar. Derrick Henry has some really nice looking action shot cards. And his rookies are in the sort of affordable range.

Unfortunately, due to how limited silvers were in 2018 Prizm (one per hobby box), Allen's Silver Prizm RC is unattainable to most people.

If I had funds to just collect who I like and isn't mentioned above. I'd grab some Baker cards. Maybe Gibbs or St. Brown for non QBs.

I'd say Maye but he's probly over priced as it stands today.

About 5 sacks this season away from having Myles Garrett on the list.

Those guys don't have the sky high values as some of those other names, but what they do have is a more limited supply of important cards and enough demand to keep prices afloat.

99.5% of people ask what players should they be collecting or buying

0.5% of people are doing research on what parallels or sets they should be buying

It's probably why 0.5% of people make 99 percent of the gains in this "hobby"

Mahomes is speculative too though. Brady is a finished product.

All cards are speculative in general, but on top of that Mahomes is further speculation. Yes he's already a lock for the HoF and has 3 rings. What happens if he doesn't win another ring? That's a real possibility given Rodgers/Brees/Manning winning 1/1/2 each. It's hard to get there, it's hard to win. The Chiefs are 5-5, still have weapons but Kelce is aging and how long does Reid stay there? Are they working with a 70+ mil cap hit from Mahomes in the next two seasons (check overthecap).

I'm not saying that will happen. But there's a real chance it might. And then what are his card values in the future? 2017-2025+ are printed to death. They would get nuked. Would be more similar to what Montana/Manning stuff goes for now, maybe.
