Here’s the problem. There’s only one viable buyer. And that buyer has made his career what it is buying distressed companies with no other choice.

you clearly missed the point. To just say it is conjecture and that they're doing fine.

They have been laying people off for awhile now (over a year). Most of the long-tenured employees and 'good' ones if you have been a longtime user, have been let go. They let go a lot of middle-management I heard.

I personally have stopped sending in items to them. I can get more money elsewhere faster with better transparency. I also very rarely buy anymore on COMC. I hate the new shipping rates. That was the final straw that has pushed me away from buying on there.

As a somewhat frequent buyer in the past on COMC, I do have to say it seems to be a shell of its former self. Lots of concerning issues with them.

I’ve cut my buying by over half this year. Shipping times, rates going up, not disclosing issues with cards. All this can’t be good for sellers.

Let’s all remember they do not own your cards.. anyway, aside from all the scaremongering they seem to have sped up processing this week for me. They been processing standard’s that are due 2/24/2026 and 1/6/2026! Obviously they’ve skipped the 2 due this year.

90% of the COMC users didn't even saw this tweet.
Most people just buy cards on COMC and do not care about anything around it.

These people would only come across the false rumor once COMC issued a statement.

If I tweet that Amazon is going bankrupt, Amazon won’t issue an official statement about it either.

Doesn't look good with Upper Deck dumping them and going with Authority instead.

Totally unrelated to it all, I requested my entire inventory last month. Maybe it will ship in December.

Fanatics just laid off 300 people almost. Wonder if they are in trouble as well. Bankruptcy?

Restructuring probably, streamlining.

I read the other day that they are expanding into the betting industry.

Comparing comc to amazon is comparing an apple to a battleship.

Comc will be bought by eBay.
eBay would love to grab them up.

Fanatics is a long shot; not because they don’t have the cash, but because they are happy where they are.

I think it would be cool if a dark horse made a run at it: Probstein, Burbank, Greg Morris.
Just think if Greg Morris had that site crushing vintage cards. Wow

I wouldn't plan on it. It's getting harder to find discounts on cards anywhere right now. Stuff on COMC also tends to be priced higher than elsewhere as it is. There will be some good buys for sure (I'll half price everything being one example), but the big dogs will have their usual 5% or 10% off knowing they don't need to cut lower in this market.

Paying a small premium for a good image and combining into a bulk shipment was fine but now it's paying the premium plus paying a bigger shipping rate. That still works for me but only when I double the size of my previous orders. I'm losing interest for some card shows that are turning into slab cities and everyone having the same Pokémon meaning I will need to get more stuff from COMC, eBay, or elsewhere.

Yes, agree with this sentiment. Slabs and Pokemon is 90% of the shows these days. It's also getting hard to find much in the few value boxes that are left at card shows, I think most people are throwing stuff on COMC or eBay and leaving just their 50 cent stuff and ultra modern in the $1 boxes.

Then replace Amazon with any other company. What company would issue an official statement just because some unrelated person tweeted something.

This guy on twitter shoots against COMC, Fanatics and Beckett in his last tweets (I only read some of them). Should all these companies answer to him?

Except that isn't true at all. Upper Deck is using the Authority for comics. Never been something you can use COMC for.

[QUOTE=boxbuster7;20086911]you clearly missed the point. To just say it is conjecture and that they're doing fine

First off why would you care, you have said you are leaving Comc for the last couple years lol.

So if an employee came on here and said don't worry, everything is fine That would make you feel better? And they do not need to appease you and the other 50 or 6o regulars on this thread.

There is zero chance in hell that Comc or any other company would or should respond to an Individual making a statement about their finances....Where do you come up with these takes?

On a planet of over 8 Billion people, You think Comc should respond to one random loser sitting in his basement tweeting?

What would they say "The guy in his basement in Long Island New York is wrong".

Doesn't Ebay already own a stake in COMC? I know they partnered and made some sort of investment in 2023. What's weird is that Ebay partnered with them instead of just buying them outright like they did with TCGPlayer.

I'm just surprised that after all these years, no one has really come up with a good competing website. Fanatics would be the best positioned to come up with something like Epack and let people open Topps packs online and then transfer them to Fanatics Collect or a similar site.

I kind of think that Fanatics recent clean out of all remaining eTopps cards (discussed in this thread>> https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1616086) could mean they eventually plan to reimagine /reuse that domain. I could see a future eTopps being an ePack/COMC hybrid.
