Nothing has ever worked that great for my collection tracking because I own a ton of rare stuff that doesn't have comps available.
That seems to be the missing piece. AI could help it in the future. None of these collection tracker apps can approximate current value. I use VCP and have mostly SGC. Some stuff doesn't trade as often. I would like to see an app approximate current value of card if last comp was old, or take 80% of current PSA in equivalent grade, % change for different parallel, etc. All the stuff we do when looking at comps. Take "like" cards and give an estimate. These apps are likely just using the same APIs to pull in info and add to database field.

Hey, if you're still looking - I actually built an app called SetScribe that might be worth checking out for this. It has AI scanning to add cards and syncs with eBay for values. There's a free tier that lets you add up to 500 cards, which is way more usable than the 10 card limit you mentioned. The paid plans are a lot cheaper, too.

Works on iOS, Android, and web. I made it because I was using Airtable and was frustrated with the same pricing issues you mentioned. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

Hi, sure I can check it out. I'm not super into accumulating right now as I have a lot to sell, but I'll give it a whirl.

Sounds good! Also, if you're trying to sell cards, you can share your collection on the web and either embed the collection or send people a link with your cards. I setup a demo of that here.

I love using Excel on my laptop for tracking prices as well as a database for my own inventory.

Downside is when I’m at a card show or not with my laptop I can’t access it.

The Venn diagram of desiring to edit a spreadsheet and desiring the touch of a woman do not overlap

I use a clanker to manage all spreadsheet functions and xloopups

If you have a smartphone, you can use one of many options to access it on the go.

I personally use google drive.

Completely inappropriate and shitty thing to say.

A lot of my spreadsheet is automated.

Once you get it going the way you like, a lot of it ends up being set it and forget it.

I’ve been trying the free week trial of market movers, it seems simple and easy enough even though I despise guys like Geoff Wilson in this hobby lol.

Are you able to do any kind of automated pricing/value by grabbing data off of eBay or something similar. Or is just putting pricing values in manually?

I can only compare to eBay but same thing either way lol, I just like that I can type in a player’s name and it will show me the currently high sales traffic card related to said player. That and the average sale data in last 30 days.
