Longterm storytelling.....

Cena's heel promo, "Hi Nic Nemeth! Hi Matt Cardona!"

Wonder why they were in the tourney? They were available for WWE to use and they both have connections with Cena who probably pushed for it.

It's not that serious or deep.

The WWE year started off strong and peaked with Cena turn and then plummeted like perhaps never before on the men's side.

In a weird way, I think you could blame it on Cena's retirement tour. Any storyline you can come up with would be immediately overshadowed by Cena.

Even before Seth's real injury, there were discussions on this very board talking about how dull "The Vision" was. I've said it before, but the mens tag-team division is on life support. Cody's appeal as the face of the company is dwindling and fast. BUT you forget all of that when Cena's theme hits to start the show.

Feels like it's mainly because of the Rock interjecting himself into the Cody/Cena storyline and then almost immediately backing out after the wheels were in motion.

He could have been doing the Rock's bidding as a heel, and then over the course of the remaining months he slowly starts seeing Rock for what he was. Then he eventually turns on him leading up to his final match against the Rock in December.

Instead we got a heel turn that made no sense and then a random face turn that made less sense.

I really would love to know why the Rock never showed up again after turning Cena heel. That heel run started well but fizzled since then. Would have more legs and last a little longer if Rock showed up more.

Roman being part-time really hurts the storytelling as well. Like why should I get invested in anything that he's doing when he's just going to disappear for weeks or months?

For all the complaints about Roman being part time now I think people forget during the pandemic years that dude carried the company on his back. He deserves every penny and every day off he gets with his new contract. If you want to blame anybody blame HHH for not having groomed the next big megastar to take his place.

I don't blame Roman and I do agree that it's the creative team that's at fault. They're more interested in creating viral moments than in telling cohesive stories.

Sheamus has a shoulder injury and is out of the tournament.

Last chance, Trips. Put Hendry in.

Reed/Carmelo match was fantastic until all the stupid shenanigans at the end.

A reminder - they've already taped next Friday's Thanksgiving ep, so try and avoid reading the spoilers if you can.

What a stunner that the Sheamus replacement is a nice big wet fart. Just like this entire crappy tournament. Considering the stakes and the participants I can't think of a worse tournament I've seen in the 30 years I've been watching wrestling.

Undertaker debuted at WWF/E 35 years ago today.

I was happy to attend Cena’s final Monday Night Raw. One of the best shows I’ve seen live. Got to see Cena, Rey, Brock, Cody, Roman, etc.

I read the spoilers and suggest that everyone else do so as well and save themselves the anguish. It could quite possibly be the worst go home show in recent history. Nothing happens that expands either Wargames match except who wins team advantage for the Women. Everything else was a bunch of fluff.

Bret Hart sure seems to hate the business and everyone in the business. All he does now is say how wrestling today sucks and how everyone he ever worked with sucked.

Seems like him and HBK trying to bury the hatchet a few years back was BS and Bret sure still seems to hate the guy.

It's wild just how much Bret seemingly hates life and how miserable he is all the time. It's not even if you believe the things he says to be true or not, but how often he just goes out of his way to be negative and spiteful towards just about anyone.

Bret needs that paycheck and still needs to stay relevant for his own well being.
It is the same with Flair and to an extent Hogan, they NEED the attention...

I can understand him being the way he is due to Owen's death and how it happened, but the stuff with Goldberg and HBK is just get over it already dude...

Now he's saying HBK and Vince were lovers, come on man...

Finish for Carmelo/Gunther was so bad. Hayes hits that DDT outside at 7 on a 10 count, Gunther gets super Cena strength at 9 to get up out of no where to get in the ring, then ends the match a minute later.

Gunther sucks.

Has to be, can't imagine WWE was planning on heel Solo vs heel Gunther.
