There arent very many owners in the whole of sports that 100% paid for their stadiums so I wouldnt expect it here. Sure I would love to get some Owners in here who are willing to spend some more money. This comes down to the city of St. Pete shaking down the Rays for more money. Should have never come to this. Taking advantage of two natural disasters to go back on something that was 99.999999% agreed upon.

They said they are obligated but they just aren't approving the current plan. They said they are unclear on how much the insurance should pay and they are trying to get money from FEMA to pay for some of it. The problem is they are saying any delay right now means the roof won't be repaired in time for the 2026 season.

At this point just move the team or sell it. They only got a franchise because they had a stadium built.

I hope the Rays stay in Tampa/St. Pete. It’s the closest MLB stadium to me.

This might be a wrap on the Tampa Bay Rays after 2025.

That's a rough schedule, but necessary.

They should move to the 2-1-0.

That storm hit at such a brutal time in their building process!

St Pete City council passed it set of bonds today to help finance the new stadium in a 4-3 vote. It's off to the county commission now on 12/17

I suspect the 2026 schedule will be similar.

I drive by it on 275 whenever I am going to any of the area shows. It has been interesting to see the progress. In July, nothing had been done. After that, you could see the slow progress being made until it looked mostly done 2 weeks ago. Now that the roof appears to be fully done, they will have a bunch of work to do to clean up the inside.

They probably have been doing interior work this whole time.
There was a lot of demolition inside due to water damage.
