I didn't realize discounts started today instead of the actual Black Friday, doh.
Couple of my "wish list" items are gone this morning, I guess they were discounted. Everything else on my list is priced the same, oh well!

First look through at my usual searches and it's quite disappointing the 'sales' that are happening. I'm not going to pretend I have the best prices in the world, but barely bought any PC items I've had on my watchlists for months and months. Oh well.

I mean it's a flaw in the system where you have to accept offers on all cards or no cards. But not every card is entitled to a counter offer.

Not really disappointed or surprised as it appears to be the same as the last couple of years. I do not really sell just buy for my PC here.

1. people have the same discounts as they normally do.
2. some people rise their prices and give bigger discounts, but the end price is the same.
3. some do not do this sale.

Like the last few years, I found a few deals before the sale due to people wanting to have money to buy cards. Out of the 20 or so cards I planned to buy only one is lower than they were before the sale.

SO this great sale (per COMC) is not even a real sale to me but again others may see it differently.

The "too many flippers" effect. As I banged the drum about, this is the state of the current hobby - not just a COMC problem. At some point, these flippers will need to take the massive ROI hit.

Pretty much expected with the current market. Stuff was moving well prior to the event so not a ton of incentive to lower prices much. I'd still think sellers would take advantage of extra eyes and at least throw a token 10%. Instead I'm seeing a lot of 3-5%. I'll keep digging. Finding a card here and there after my initial watch list purge. Hopefully can find another 50-60 cards today then get the shipment request in before everyone else.

How are you defining “flips”? Are you only including stuff purchased off of COMC and then subsequently sold on COMC by the same buyer? Or are you lumping in every person that sells on COMC as a flipper?

And define it. People who do it solely for profit? People who do it because it's how they afford to stay in the hobby? People who can afford it, but do it for spending money for more cards for their PC? People who do it b/c it's fun and they like it? People who are a combination of these things?

When people say "flippers are bad," I can tell they want to just say it without having to actually explain it. It reeks of the "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy suggesting that people who buy for a PC are "pure" and people who sell at a price insulting to a particular buyer are "impure." What it sounds like to many of us is, "I'm mad someone is asking more for a card that I want than I want to pay." I'm not saying that's what it is, but that's what it sounds like.
