PSA shipment lost?

So I submitted back in AUGUST. My cards were finally done and due to arrive last Wed 11/12. I live in VA. They scanned in Dulles Fedex on 11/11 at 6:44pm and that's where it has been ever since. I opened a claim with PSA. Anyone experienced a lost/stolen package. How will this end for me and my investment? It was a 32 card order, PSA offers were over 2k before I decided ro ship home. This is my first experience of this nature. Any insight is appreciated.

I'm going to assume it was FedEx that has stalled the shipment, right? You need to reach out to them. PSA isn't going to be able to track it down. It left their hands, and was insured - so if it was actually deemed "lost" then you can hope whatever insurance kicks in, but good luck with that.

I actually filed a missing package with PSA. They are investigating. I was told PSA was Fedex's customer, not me..? No clue I just hope it's found soon.

Yes, it is PSA's responsibility to file the missing package claim with FedEx as they are the shipper.

Typically, they give it a certain number of days for FedEx to "investigate" and see if the package turns up. If the package is deemed lost by FedEx, then PSA will contact you about a reimbursement for the value of your cards.

insurance would go to psa since they are the ones who paid it.
then he would have to settle with psa.

insurance is for the shipper, not the receiver.

In the future, send Registered Mail with USPS, I've sent tons of packages and have arrived at PSA safely.

There is no insurance with FedEx. PSA either has a master policy with some 3rd party or they self-insure (cross their fingers). So if it is gone, then PSA will pay you out the lower of the declared value of each card when you submitted it, or the actual market value if your declared value was too high or BS (because it didn't get the grade).

The PSA offers are only relevant if they were LOWER or equal to the declared value. If they were higher, then you are screwed!

Wow. So yeah Im screwed. I had no idea a Paige Bueckers Fireworks psa 10 would have a value of $400+! I think I put 80 or something on it. My god this is a nightmare. Makes me sick. The longer it drags on, the greater the chance I never see the cards. At least I.will get some sort of reimbursement. They had offers on almost.all.of it and it totaled $2500. I can't remember what the insured value was when I mailed it. Thanks to all for the insight.

I've had some issues before with FedEx "losing" stuff from time to time. Now, I can't say what will happen here, but when I've had it happen, I had the sender contact them and I contacted them as well, and usually after a while they find it. I had one time where the box actually got knocked off of a conveyor belt and fell behind a machine at the sorting facility, and was hidden from view. That was a fun 1000 dollar adventure.... Thankfully I've never actually had something that didn't end up showing up at some later point out of the 4 or 5 times I've had it happen, maybe I've just been lucky in that regard.

If it comes down to PSA having to pay out,id use that offer sheet against them.....they placed a value on the shipment themselves.

I actually just totaled it up..$3114 in offers and they didn't want a few of them. I just hope it is found but I don't have high hopes.

So, Fedex concluded their investigation and the package was ruled to be lost. This sucks. I had some super nice cards in that submission. Now waiting to see how PSA handles the reimbursement.

My grades were ready last week and FedEx is sending them to me. My package left Boca Raton FL 11/21 and I’m near Atlanta. The package is showing in Indianapolis IN on 11/22. No other movement. Explain this FedEx.

Memphis would have made more sense in terms of pkgs going to nearest hub before heading out to destination city...your pkg possibly got on the wrong plane but it may also be dependent on service type for your specific pkg. Logically/geographically it does not make any sense.

That’s what I’m thinking too. They totally flew over my house by a few states. I called psa and the gal I spoke to hasn’t noticed that before, but she also said she’s never had to investigate an issue like this. She just said to wait and hopefully they will update the tracking. I asked her how much insurance was on the package and she says $2k…which is about half the value amt. I had a total of around $4k value on the submission form before my 40 cards were graded. IDK why they only had it insured for $2k…

My package just showed up today and FedEx never updated anything after Indianapolis. What in the world??

I checked my original submission docs and I had a grand total max value of $6k on my 39 cards. When I called PSA yesterday to ask about the FedEx tracking, I also asked how much insurance was on the package. She said $2k. I didn’t know what to say, but luckily it showed up. Does anyone here have any experience with this? If so, please chime in.

It will be calculated on a card by card basis. So whatever value you put for each card, if it is less than or equal to "market value", then they would pay it. If it is more than what it really is worth, they'll knock it down.
