Per the checklist that Gretzky is actually an auto/glove. This is exactly why you never trust those crappy digital mockups.

Does anyone know if the Celebrini RPA will be game used like Bedard's was?

PYT prices starting to trickle out. Sticker shock to say the least. I wonder if breakers will do SJ by the box to help spread the cost. I was more than happy to grab a six box case of 2022-23 for several thousand dollars less from BO just now. And either others did the same or they had limited quantity, since after I bought it said it's sold out. But they still have three boxers left, or at least they did as I'm typing this.

I've been looking at Cup pricing for several different years, and I can't make any of it make sense. It's the one product that I have no ability to make a case for opening.
That sucks because the cards look amazing for the most part. |

Not Cup related, but 24/25 product related, anyone know why SPA is booming? Sealed prices shot up and breaks selling out at least where I gander. Buyer group hoping to corner FWA of Macklin? No other product is moving price wise like that.

And the thing is you could likely afford it (atleast cutting out a good portion of the breaks you do since you break most new products. So that says something when it’s not just someone they can’t afford a box being salty, it’s someone who could probably swing it if they really saw the value in the price.

What I don't understand is six box cases of 2020-21 The Cup have all but disappeared, and 2021-22 have shot way up, but 2022-23 still is affordable. It must have been opened as much if not more than these other years by breakers, so I cannot figure it out. |

22/23 is just a super rough rookie class. Some solid players but doesn't yet appear any breakout stars on the way. Sneaky bonus in the product is 2021/22 Spencer Knight updates are packed out in 22/23. |

Blame stores for raising up the prices. They want 2x on what they are paying for cup.

UD bragged about the Bedard before release and haven’t said a word about Celebrini’s so I’m guessing it’s not game worn

I know everyone focuses on rookies but there’s prob still old Cup boxes with amazing say McDavid patch autos or big dual shields. I doubt the Cup ever gets discounted that much due to the potential even with a bad rookie class.
In relation to SPA I think people were naive or ignorant to how much things like the Cup would cost, add in SP being cheaper than Ultimate and Premier and having a bigger overall audience as shields etc are niche and out of most price range and SPA looks very attractive. Felt like the one product this year that had value relation to price, even a case wasn’t terrible. Most cases had atleast one of the bigger names as well so people just likely caught on and started buying. Oh yeah anddddddd it doesn’t release on e-pack so not only are more people driven to buy physical those that wouldn’t even care about e pack prob dropping it way more than stores due to achievements etc have to buy physical. I can’t imagine e-pack whales just completely sit out SP yearly. |

Interesting that Lane Hutson does not have a Shield auto. That would have been a nice non-Celebrini chase. |

Not at all unheard of, even for a /99 rookie. Just from memory I know that Spencer Knight's wasn't in 21-22, Slaf didn't have a true shield in 22-23 (only the Exquisite Collection one), and Fantilli didn't have one in 23-24.

Tbh I got the term “e-pack whales” from here, may of been non-sports section though. People always talk about the “whales” in relation to how much of a product has been opened lol

Of course break spots are filling briskly. Smart breakers are preselling as much as possible since once folks see this opened and how much of a bath they'll take, that might not be as easy to do.
