Go start one, because people that use SGC don't care about that. I get PSA prices for pre-war with SGC.

Why do you even care? If people list SGC cards for over PSA comps, they won't sell unless it is a high eye-appeal vintage card. Looking at your thread history, you seem very vested in card prices.

My order shipped today, two months and two days after receiving it. 18 of 26 cards graded. At least I got mostly good results. Here are some I'm happiest about.

1937 Melorol Ice Cream Minute Biographies Edgar Allan Poe 5
1978 Amada Kings Of The Square Ring Large Andre The Giant vs Antonio Inoki 9
1978 Amada Kings Of The Square Ring Large Andre The Giant vs Antonio Inoki 9
1966 Kunold Verlag Uwe Seeler 8
1953 Fritz Homann "Boston Tea Party" 16. Dezember 1773 5

On the other side, there are two cards graded poor I have no idea why.

I figured out why one was graded poor. The other still not sure. I guess it had a little too much foxing for their liking.

For vintage hall of famers in 7 or lower, SGC is selling for as much as PSA brings and nobody is crying about it.

Does anyone know if the "immediate" service level is clearing received status faster than standard? I've got a few higher-end cards I'd like to sub, but see no reason to pay $40/per if they're just going to sit in receiving for 30+ days without moving to grading (like my current standard sub).

Isnt SGC owned by the same company? You guys can relax, I'm only dealing with turds on Ebay with Modern.

Why do you care if people are wanting too much money for modern SGC slabs? If they are overpriced, they won't sell. If you are selling PSA slabs, then it will help you since people won't look at them. This is a very weird problem you have.

By the way, there are many people that will pay the same for a SGC/CGC card than a PSA card. Some people have their entire collection in SGC slabs, so they will overpay for the card to keep their collection uniform. Some people, like myself, are disgusted with PSA for many reasons. Some are inconsistent grading, damaging cards, participating in online marketplaces to flip cards, affiliation with Backyard Breaks, upcharges, and I could list about 10 other reasons.

I am so disgusted with PSA, that I am selling everyone of my PSA slabs and replacing them with raw, SGC, or CGC slabs. I actually put -PSA for all my eBay searches.

SGC doesn't move things to scheduled to grading like PSA/CGC. They will definitely grade your $40 submissions much faster.

By the way, I am just going by experience. This new SGC-CU version is an absolute disaster right now. I am sending in another order this week, but I am not expecting it back until sometime in late January.

I sent my first submission into SGC. I live in Canada but use US shipping because it's cheaper. Dyk post is a company that will take my package across the border and have their agent make sure everything clears without tariffs. First package went smoothly.

5 cards
10/26 Dropped off at DYK Post in Calgary
10/28 Crossed AB/MT border tariff free
10/30 Scanned to USPS
11/3 Arrived in FL
11/4 SGC Pickup from PO
11/7 SGC Scan

Counting day 1 as Monday Nov 10th. Not holding my breath after seeing the recent submissions.
Today is day 15 with the holiday last week. Not holding my breath.

SGC dropped to about 35k graded last month. TAG actually graded more cards than them.

TAG graded 39k cards - Down 22% vs the previous month. 37,500 were TCG.
TAG only graded ~1,500 sports cards total for the entire month.

SGC graded 35k cards - Down 30% vs the previous month, and SGC only graded 1,700 TCG cards for the entire month.
SGC graded ~33,000 sports cards.

They really are a tale of two complete opposites.

Collector's Universe is doing their best to starve SGC, but it's not like TAG is actually doing much better. TAG is all about TCG, and many of their numbers are TCG repacks.

yep, I don't pay much attention to the pokecrap numbers. It is a market that I just don't care about at all. What is more interesting is that CGC is now had more sports cards two months in a row. CGC had 51K to SGC 34K in November. Feels like CGC sports cards are starting to get the no PSA crowd to migrate over. Without looking into the numbers, I would expect a pretty stark split between SGC/CGC as in Vintage/Modern. Getting CGC looked at as a viable vintage grader is the last hurdle for them. The goal should be to get consistently over 100k a month in sports cards.

I just still fear for the longevity of SGC. I would love to know how long the lease is for in the new office. I would put money that SGC will be shut down right when that lease is up. Still hoping for a black swan investor to come in and buy them back out. Long shot I know.

Mystery Gems and those doodoo Wal-Mart tins are large volume drivers for CGC. Not necessarily organic growth driven by actual collector submissions

How is this different than PSA? PSA is grading crap for the same purpose of putting slabs inside vending machines and mystery packs. Collector submissions drive about 10% of grading these days.

All repacks and mystery products are sh*t. The difference is one company is relying on bottom of the barrel retail mystery packs for a large portion of their sports grading output.

Again, all of these products are trash, regardless of the grading company
