Have three sons, just looking for a fun rip on Christmas day, something that doesn't break the bank. Looking to spend less than ~$150 per son. Would really like each box to have at least one hit - don't want one kid upset they didn't get anything. IYKYK. I'm not very familiar with all the various products. Can be baseball or football. Thanks in advance!

There is some simple truth to this advice.
Get them a sweet card of their favorite player - a different colored binder that they can fill on trips with you to the card shop or shows with a simple allowance.

if you want wax, I would say 2022 Topps HHN. price has increased, but still a decent shot at chromes of BWJ and J-Rod. most wax is so crazy priced right now, it is worth skipping and picking up a single or take them to the LCS and let them go crazy in value bins.

I’d get them each a mega box. Chances of any meaningful hit is pretty low, so that keeps it fair and hopefully fun. Spending closer to $150 doesn’t get you much more IMO.

i've posted this before (i often do this for my son) but buy cheap wax and a big hit from the product and just reseal a pack. Can get a topps chrome blaster and like a James Woods RC auto for maybee $150. You lose like $20 in value and kid get the thrill of a big pull `

I personally understand that especially for kids, the experience of ripping is we’re the value lies.
Outside of previous years heritage, I recommend looking at the holiday mega boxes up through 2024 as they all have a relic included and can be found for $50. Regardless of the ‘value’, I’m confident that all kids will get excitement over a relic card in their box. Pair this with a couple newer packs or a value box of Allen and Ginter for $25 so everyone gets a hit in the holiday box and they still get to jump into newer players and unique/mini cards from ginter that can drum up excitement |

Rephrasing OP since I'm shopping for a baseball collector (LAD if that matters) and I'm purely non-sports -- what's the best box to gamble on for $200 or less?
