Default Colts going all in

Just got this notification:

The #Colts are planning to bring potential Hall of Fame QB Philip Rivers into their facility Tuesday to work out to see if he may join their practice squad, per me & @MikeGarafolo.

This is real. Daniel Jones’ season is over, Riley Leonard will start, but Rivers may be an option.

crazy how they went from one of the hottest teams in the league to this in the span of 3 weeks

I wonder if that fibula injury had anything to do with the achilles - I know it was different legs but maybe they should've held him out.

LOL

Yeah, like this is going to end up being a good idea

Desperate times, something something.

Welp, guess this is as good a time as any to go digging through my shoeboxes for Philip Rivers cards

If you reply with...."last one on eBay sold for this"...then you should have bought it on eBay.

This will probably end up with Rivers looking like the Dennis Quaid character from Any Given Sunday sitting in a ice bath with a career ending injury.

I suppose they could keep as a practice squad player coach type that could be sounding board for the raw Leonard.

This team has the look of the Titanic taking on water and the SOS signal only went a mile or so....

Just give up a draft pick for Tyson B. From the Bears, or Davis Mills from the Texans

Philip Rivers' oldest kid (23.5) is just two months younger than Anthony Richardson and older than some other potential Colts teammates including Riley Leonard

Rivers couldn’t win with a loaded team in his prime.

No chance this is a good idea.

At this point you have to hope AR can finish out the season to get one more look at him. I know he is still on IR but he is eligible to come off at anytime.

Was reading something the other day about his eye injury

That was my point, I read that the Colts were not rushing to take him off IR

I liked AR coming out of college as a person, and his good character, and I was up in the air as to whether he would be good or not but was hoping he would be. I have to say, I just don't think he can play. Not sure he will do anything that helps the Colts go anywhere.

Dang. So this would delay his HOF card bump until at least 2031.

Would he be the first grandfather to QB an NFL game?

I agree, but at this point he's no worse than any of the other options. If he can begin practicing next week it would be in everybody's best interest to give him one more look before the season is up.

There is no QB that is magically going to take the Colts to the promise land, so whoever is at QB should just hand off over and over to Taylor.
I also think that Warren should do some wild cat- Richardson too for that matter

Agreed, Warren was a QB in high school and was Leonard's back up after Jones went down.
