So either Alonso wanted to go to Baltimore more than Boston, in which case he's an idiot. Or the Red Sox didn't want to spend $31 million a year on Alonso, in which case Breslow is an idiot.

Or maybe it's both but I really think that going to the Orioles is a mistake but maybe Alonso doesn't care about winning that much, in which case we're idiots for wanting to sign him.

Unforgiveable. Right now no one is playing 1B. No one is playing 2B. No one is playing 3B. We have too many OFs. No 30 HR hitters (never mind 40 or 50). And after #1, it's a bunch of #3 and #4 starters along with a couple rookies. And every other team in the division is getting better.

We have 1 ace and 1 potential young superstar...and thats about it.

It's nice to have a handful of (yet) unproven talent, but the bullpen SUCKS and most of the position players are cheap, replacement-level players.

One of the most vaulable and prifitable organizations in professional sports should not be being run like this.

Offseason isnt over, still guys there but the Red Sox ability to constantly make themselves look foolish is amazing. No one told Breslow to talk so freely about their plans and what he wants to do, hes a terrible communicator. And then they low ball Alonso?

I just have no faith in Breslow at all. I dont want Bregman and I dont wanna see what the other bat is gonna be.

I don't disagree with your point but... Alonso? Really? I understand the Sox need a first baseman, but do they really need a bad first baseman with a lot of caution signs? Including, btw, that the Mets -- the team that knows him best -- basically passed on him twice.

I'm going to hold off on the panic a little longer; for example, until they trade Duran for a 40 year old submariner. Or their entire outfield for Ketel Marte. Or miss on Bregman and Tucker and don't manage to trade for a first baseman.

The Red Sox line up is disgusting, and not in a good way. You need to take chances. I dont care if he turns into Chris Davis in 2030, you are the Boston Red Sox. You have the core of a title team right now, and again, I dont trust Breslow.

Id love Ketel Marte, Id trade Mayer for him but they wont.

And if Craig doesnt trade an OF I am going to go crazy

They traded Devers for a bum reliever and said they’d use that money somewhere else, so it’s almost like trading Duran for a 40 year old submariner.

Caution signs? In 6 full seasons since he came up (excluding Covid year), he's averaged 158.5 games per year. And 41 HRs per year (not at Fenway). The Red Sox haven't had a 40 HR hitter in 7 years. This guy was the absolute perfect fit for the team and a perfect fit for Fenway. It was just money, and they have plenty of it.

I get it. He's not great defensively. But he's no worse than the Lowe/Sogard/Toro/Romy combo of last year. And his bat is way better. He has a career 1.003 OPS at Fenway. And his bat would help everyone else in the lineup. And they need right handed power. What's the plan at 1B now? If they are counting on Casas, we're screwed.

As much as I don’t like BresBot, it’s not him.

Ownership has the Red Sox on the back burner. I’m sure all the money is flowing to soccer or racing or whatever the hell they are getting into now. LeFlop is probably trying to sabotage things as well.
