Did not crack myself, I'm done doing that. Like I said I was hoping it would get a 9, definitely never had something cross to a higher grade.

I am a Tigers fan! I don't think Tigers ownship will resign Skubal. I am hoping the Dodgers make a huge offer to the Tigers. If my Tigers aren't going to win the WS then I want Ohtani and the Dodgers to win.

We might be pleasantly surprised, as it seems Tigers are ready to trade him for the best offer, and the Dodgers have a lot of prospects....

Love Shohei, but Skubal going to the Dodgers would be an absolute death blow to other teams. I can't blame LA for being willing to spend and trying to win, but MLB needs to get their crap together to make things a little bit more competitive.

I completely disagree with this take! What the Dodgers are doing is good for baseball. By spending they basically cornered the Japanese market and that advertising money in return has basically paid for those contracts. They have superior scouting and development and a top ranked farm system. They are doing what teams should be doing...spending money and trying to win now!

Yes the small market teams are at a disadvantage...but there are not losing money due to profit sharing...they just have cheap owners that prioritize making money over winning.

With that being said MLB should probably compensate small market teams with more extra draft choices and international money then currently.

But the game of MLB and ratings are better with the Dodgers winning the WS...which equals more total money in MLB.

BTW...I am a Tigers fan and not a Dodgers fan.

Its actually not. I collected Ohtani before he was a Dodger...so I am clearly biased for Ohtani doing well...not necessarily the Dodgers.

I am a Tigers fan. I would like Tigers ownership to spend money on FA and also extend Skubal. That would be exciting. The Tigers on the other hand don't want to expand payroll to win more games. They are happy making the playoffs and making profits as currently constructed. And they won't win a WS this way.

I feel like we're on the same page. I literally said, "I can't blame LA for being willing to spend and trying to win." The other teams' owners need to step up. Maybe MLB needs to encourage those owners to spend more somehow.

But realistically, Skubal going to LAD would push the narrative further that MLB needs a salary cap, which will make the idea of a lockout happening next season become a reality. That would not be good for baseball, and I bet the card market would take a hit, too.

Yes, we do agree! If the Dodgers traded for Skubal I think that would break MLB and all the other fan bases will be super angry.

The problem is the owners. Manford works for the owners. MLB could definitely come up with a rule to ensure more competitive balance. Something like...

A team must be either in the Top 10 in Payroll or have made the playoffs in the past 10 years. Any team that fails to do one or the other must be sold.

Owners would clearly change their tune....but it will never happen. Small market owners like to make more money by not spending on team payroll.

100%. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen because, as you said, Manfred is going to do what's best for the owners, not for the game. I just don't want to see a lockout. I've had so much fun watching baseball over the past few years. It seems like their viewer/attendance numbers are up overall, too.

I've gotten plenty of messages like that on ebay. Some turn into smooth transactions using paypal G&S, some just go nowhere but I've never been scammed like that. You can ignore or respond, I wouldn't report unless you feel harassed.

He's just trying to work an off-eBay deal to avoid paying sales tax. He might even be willing to pay you via F/F.

You'll probably net the same but you also have the potential to net more (selling off-eBay).

For what it's worth, I've sold and purchased a lot off-eBay (by reaching out to sellers or being reached out to by buyers) where discussions first started from such messages.

Im curious how gemrate is now gettng that data.

Terapeak removed this last year, and it was confirmed, by my eBay rep at the time, per my accurate suspicion, that eBay higher up suites did not want this to be available publically as it allowed for tracking/trending sales over time and thus fee revenue and thus a real tiome predictor of stock price.

You can buy a license for this data from Terapeak but it's something like $100K a month
