I drove cross town to a small reoccuring show maybe 30 tables max.

I was able to pick up

1st week of training complete. Based on what I made and that technically the job is part time I can continue to collect unemployment as well at a lower rate. I think I have 6 or 7 weeks left.
Information overload. Lots of safety and training vids.
Pretty amazing people cannot follow basic rules.
Phones OFF and out of reach while Driving.
One clown who was working a lot of overtime and making about $130K a year got canned for phone use.
The reason he got caught was he used his phone while driving, pulled over and got off the bus to take the call. There was still a customer on the bus when this happened. They filed a complaint and the company checked the video from the camera and boom he was gone.

More training next week with 2 ride alongs to learn some routes.

If I dont pass the test and get the job I will become a hermit and live in Glen's basement.

I know there are a whole bunch of safety rules with your job. Phone use is near the top of the list. My sister and brother-in-law are Sarasota County bus drivers and from what my sister tells me, if you are at a turnaround at the end of a run line or on your meal break, you can check your phone, but that is it.

This is correct. If I am at the end of the route and have 15 minutes until the return run starts I CAN use my phone, You just CANNOT sit in the drivers seat and use it. You can sit on any other seat on the bus or off of it but not in the drivers seat

Hospital sitting for one of my wife’s friends father for the week as they are out of town and he is not able to feed himself so I get to be here from 9.30 to 5.30 today through next Saturday. He hardly speaks and his hearing is pretty bad so I get to play charades to know whether he has had enough to eat or drink.

It’s was near 60 when I got up. Starting raining while I was out walking. Now it’s 48 and the temp is dropping fast. Low tonight is 18. That’s to much of a temp change in one day.
